Very disappointed for the 3rd time! I don't know why I keep giving this cafe a chance but I always want to like it. My third experience there was on a Thursday around lunch time.
The first two times I've been here, I was just disappointed with the service, noone seems to care to serve you, and the coffee is always meh (might be my personal preference, it's very acidic)
This time I came with my MIL and my 2yo. We were seated promptly outside. As soon as we sat down, noticed ants all over the table and I had to swat a cockroach off my daughter's bib.
Then a spider started making its web on the highchair stack next to me so we decided to move. Basic cleaning of the outside is required, given it's not a garden area, it's a concreted area with wooden tables, it's just basic daily cleaning.
So we moved to a table inside and ordered. The food was not bad, calamari and chips were good and the breakfast with scramble eggs was good.
Coffee again is not my taste, very very acidic . However the problem is the service. There was a young brunette waitress maybe in her early 20s who just did not want to work. Everytime we tried to flag her down she would avoid looking at us. She looked directly at us one time, nodded her head like she was going to come then went behind the counter and drank her drink.
Then another young waitress came to serve us, we only wanted to order a juice for my kid. The waitress took our order then went straight to the back and looked like she went for her break.
After 10 mins I walked over to the counter and asked if I could order a juice for my daughter. The barista poured juice from a 2l bottle into a glass and gave it to me.
Then another 15 mins later a waiter came and check if we received our juice, while at the same time the second waitress came back from her break.
It's really not that hard to take food and drink orders and serve it, unless you hate your job.
But yes, the cafe needs a cleaning and better service for sure. Not sure if we came during busier times it...

We went for lunch to Miss Ruby in a Wednesday without booking - it was probably at 70% capacity and we were immediately shown to a table, offered water, and asked if we wanted any drinks while we look at the menu.
Itâs hard choosing what to have as everything on offer seems really good. My decision was made even hard thanks to the Specials of the Day, which also looked super attractive.
Prices are great â I think the most expensive item on the menu was around $22, which is such great value for money!
My friend ordered the Breakfast Board and I got the Chicken Katsu Bowl.
The Breakfast Board already comes with an Orange Juice and she also ordered a Mocha.
I ordered a Watermelon, Pineapple, and Mint juice, which was average.
My friend was very happy with the Breakfast Bowl as it just offered everything she was craving â an avo, a croissant, delicious chia, and much more.
The Chicken Katsu Bowl was really nice too. The highlight for me was the Wasabi Mayo, which was really nice!
Important to note that, even though they were white busy, our drinks arrived in under 5 minutes and the food took less than 10 minutes too â impressive!
Overall, we paid $55, which is great value for money!
Definitely looking forward to going back and trying more of what Miss Ruby...
Read moreMiss Ruby's food is delicious, and their coffee is good. Unfortunately the service is truly awful, and it's bad enough to stop me going back.
I have been several times and on multiple occasions the waitstaff have been confused about what is going on. I saw food frequently taken to the wrong tables. I've been seated at dirty tables, when I was assured they would come wipe it and then they never did.
Probably the worst thing was the last time I was there. My friend and I ordered at the same time, and there were only two of us. His meal arrived before mine, which happens. I told him to start, assuming mine was not far behind. Actually he had finished his entire meal before mine even arrived. When mine did arrive, they tried to give it to the table next to us before it came to me. I don't mind a little bit of a gap between meals arriving, but the other person on my table should not be completely finished with time to spare before I get my food.
I've given them several chances because like I said - the food is good. But the service is just dismal, and I won't...
