I purchased a dark chocolate, but when I got home, I discovered it was expired. Since I donā€™t live in the city, I had to make another trip to return it. The refund process was frustrating: they refunded me $13.90 and offered to exchange the product, but I had to pay $15.60 for the new bar. I originally paid around $15 for the expired chocolate, so they refunded less and charged more for the replacement. This experience was incredibly disappointing and unfair.

At ā€˜The Paris Endā€™ of Collins Street and a short journey up the Block Arcade you will see Haighā€™s Chocolates. Decadents personified. The chances are if they have not got the chocolate you are looking for, you probably canā€™t get it. The store was busy, the choice was amazing, the stock was laid out in a logical way to make selection easy. Staff were prompt and friendly. If you after a treat, and bit of self-indulgenceā€¦..this is the place

Haighs Manufacturing have lost the plot. This one star is for the woefully cheapened quality. 5 stars for the amazing staff; consistently helpful and friendly. Zero stars for the bean-counting zombies at head office who decided to rip the cocoa solids out of their products to such an extent that all their chocolate now tastes like white chocolate with brown food colouring. Bleurrgh. Have noticed the decline in chocolate taste for over a year now, almost 2, but really wanted to believe it was due to COVID / Supply chain etc. But close to 2 years later, and I have to resign myself to the fact this decline in chocolate taste is a company choice. One last try with Easter range because family get excited seeing the brand ... and all went in the bin. This year Haighs was worse than Darrel Lea and I thought I'd never...

The chocolate was amazing!! Definitely was worth it and good for gifts. Most of the staff were so friendly and helpful and found some samples for the chocolates I purchased! Very thankful for the lovely younger lady who served us in the end, she was so sweet!

On a side note: I came in around December and unfortunately had a very poor experience with one of the staff whom didn't even serve me. It wasn't busy, she was serving someone cheerfully.. We made eye contact a few times, I said hello but was greeted with a disgusted face????.. maybe she had a terrible day.. She later proceeded to give everyone samples and avoid myself and my friend, specifically. I wish I could remember her name. But if she remembers then it was sad and did...

I rushed into Haighs Collins st today after work with the INSANE request to buy 7 big boxes of chocolate. Haide, who served me, was SO LOVELY and immensely helpful. Although this Haighs didnā€™t have 7 of the specific boxes I needed and only had 2, she helped me track down their other larger store on Elizabeth street, even giving me the tram stop number to get off at! I now have 7 boxes! Hooray! Thanks Haighs! Also they give out free samples!? In this economy!?!?...
