In an ever evolving Melbourne streetscape, it is sometimes worth folding up the maps, ditching the plan, and just wandering.
This winding laneway (formerly Corporation Lane) was renamed by the City Council on 1st October 2004 in tribute to Aussie Rick legends AC/DC, and is home to Melbourne’s most infamous and (in Cherry Bar’s own words) ‘pretty much the best rock n’ roll bar in the world’.

When I visited, AC/DC Lane was completely empty, which felt a bit unsettling at first. However, I decided to go in anyway, and everything was fine—the street art was incredible.
I definitely recommend visiting, but perhaps during daylight hours for a more...
