Metropolis Bookshop — Local services in Melbourne

My favorite bookshop of all, discovered when I lived in Melb through a international student's booklet introducing Curtin House. My favorite spot for paper-book, Well, for arch, Glenn, Doshi (I stumbled across and knew it was right for meh cuz humanity), Zaha, Architecture: Form, Space& Order. CAD magazine 2013, then Noguchi(the woman introduced it to me cuz I only saw Nog's work on Pinterest), The secret of colours ( pretty light& interesting to read), and Studio Ghilbli' s The wind rises.

My roomie bought The poetic of space.

I wanna buy Lee Krasner and Cinematography.. and Idk what i will discover? one day if i ever visit to this bookshop again.

ps. There's a Chinese bookshop nearby in CBD which I discover lots of literature works,...

EDIT: I visited post covid and nothing (apart from the store layout) has changed. They still have an amazing array of books. 5 stars!

Hidden from street-view, at the top of an old and graffiti ridden staircase is the most wonderful bookshop you will find in Melbourne! They carry tomes that are otherwise impossible to attain on-line (without being extorted by shipping prices) and are conveniently located in the cbd. The staff are very polite and helpful. Once your preferences are known to them they can give marvellous recommendations and order in any books that are not presently gracing their shelves. A must-visit for any...

Tucked away up the stairs of this grand old Melbourne building is a fabulous book store. The range caters for specialised topics including photography, design, art and music amongst others. It is a great place to browse and be surprised by texts and topics that are hard to find in other locations. The staff are always friendly and helpful providing suggestions that always seem to be on the mark.
