I used to not like crepe cakes but this place changed my mind! They make really good ones, the cream is just the right consistency and the crepe layers taste fresh, not soggy at all. I've tried most of their flavors and my favorite is the matcha one, because I'm a huge matcha fan. If I remove that bias I'd say the coconut pandan one comes pretty in close. All of them are good though, can't go wrong with any of them! My personal ranking and review:
Matcha & adzuki: strong matcha taste, but not to the point that it's overbearing. I think it would be even better if they incorporated more adzuki in between layers.
Coconut pandan: some pandan desserts only look green without actually tasting like pandan, but this one actually does taste like pandan. The taste isn't too strong, but distinct.
Rose black tea: very pleasant and fragrant rose scent and flavor.
Taro: straightforward taro taste, just the right amount of sweetness.
Strawberry milk: this tastes rather plain in comparison to the others, but those who prefer milder flavors will like this one.
Caramel biscoff: straightforward caramel and biscoff flavor. The biscoff layers adds a bit more texture to the cake.
Black sesame: if you don't like sesame seeds, this one is actually not that bad. Worth trying at least.
Jasmine tea honey: fragrant jasmine taste, honey taste not as strong. Jelly layer on top is a nice touch.
Their lychee & longan shortcake is also divine and the mocha chocolate chip shokupan is quite good as well, not as soft as brioche but still pleasantly...
Read moreI love Mille and B! They used to only make whole cakes for delivery and now they have opened a store and I went on their first soft opening day.
I bought all their cake flavours because there are only 3 at the moment: vanilla, tiramisu and green tea. It’s not hard to understand why they had these three flavours on sale on their soft launch period cos they tasted amazing! The vanilla one is just a touch sweet for me, but the other two, green tea and tiramisu are my favourite. The crepes are so light and I counted at least 10 layers to the cake.
I have tried Lady M in HK and I am sorry Lady M, I reckon Mille and B is so much yummier. I can’t wait to try their pandan flavour and...
Read moreInsta: melbfoodie_mark YT: MelbFoodieMark ** Check them out for more food reviews in Melbourne! A hidden cafe in Carlton known for its signature matcha crepe cake! Although I live nearby, it took me awhile to find this place (go up grey stairs from Bouverie Street). The cafe itself was beautifully decorated and very cozy inside - a perfect place for a coffee date. Matcha crepe cake was fluffy without being too sweet. It was right in the sweet spot where sweetness and bitterness of matcha came together wonderfully - very delicate and well balanced. I also liked how it was kept super light and moist and went ridiculously well with latte. I'd love to visit again to try other...
