I have always been very interested in coffee and I hope to work in a cafe in the future. Since I had no prior experience, I decided to join this class.

I enrolled in the Ready to Work course, and later continued with the Barista Skills and Basic Latte Art classes. Within a short time, I was able to learn so much: from the fundamentals of coffee, recipes for different types of coffee, how to steam perfect milk, operate and clean the coffee machine, to creating latte art. Every part of the course was valuable, and even though my English is not perfect, the explanations were always clear and easy to understand.

At first, I was worried because I had no cafĆ© experience and very little knowledge about coffee, but as soon as the class began I realized there was nothing to worry about. I also gained the confidence that I could actually do it. It was such a satisfying experience. I know I would have regretted it if I hadn’t taken these classes.

Carlos and Regina were incredibly kind. They always welcomed us warmly and never hesitated to give encouragement and positive feedback throughout the lessons. And of course, Nala was just too adorable!

What I appreciated the most was definitely the reasonable price. Before joining, I compared other schools and noticed that many Ready to Work courses cost close to $1000 or even more. But I Am Barista Coffee School offered a much more affordable option. I also loved that the classes were not overly focused on theory but instead emphasized practical, hands-on training. In the latte art course especially, we had plenty of time to practice, and Carlos continuously gave us feedback, which I found extremely helpful.

Overall, every part of the program was enjoyable and truly worthwhile.

Finally, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Carlos and Regina for their guidance, support, and kindness throughout...

I recently completed the Barista Skills and Latte Art courses at I Am Barista Coffee School, and I’m really happy with the experience. The training was not only informative and well-structured, but also personal and engaging.

Carlos, the instructor, has extensive experience in the coffee industry and shares insights and tips that you wouldn’t easily learn without hands-on experience — that knowledge is incredibly valuable.

The venue itself is spacious, clean, and full of natural light. Everything you need for the training is provided. Classes are kept small, which means you always get individual attention and never feel left out. The overall atmosphere is welcoming, calm, and professional.

Carlos creates a great vibe with the students — he’s both friendly and truly passionate about what he teaches. I left feeling much more confident, not just with the technical skills, but also with a deeper understanding of the barista role.

Highly recommended for anyone starting out or looking to improve their skills in a supportive and professional environment!...

It took me a while to research and compare the available barista classes in Melbourne city and I'm glad I picked this one!

Carlos is very thorough, patient, observant, and encouraging. I learnt about the different types of coffee and the handout he prepared for us is detailed and practical.

There was plenty of time so I got to practice making espressos, cappuccinos, flat whites, lattes, magic (Melbourne specialty coffee), mocha, piccolo latte and short macchiatto. I also got to practice foaming different milks - cows, soy, and oat milk.

At the end of the class we learnt how to and why we clean the coffee machines. I appreciate the small class (max. 4 pax) as Carlos paid close attention to all our practices and gave useful tips whenever needed.

Last but not least, his assistant Nala certainly made the class even more cheerful! šŸ¶šŸ’–

I highly recommend this course for anyone looking to learn barista skills as a hobby or to prepare for a part time job. Now I am looking forward to my next class with Carlos, to...
