Absolutely top notch from start to finish - could not recommend these guys highly enough if you’re searching for a dive trip from Port Douglas!

🤿 I was Open Water certified but hadn’t dived for 10 years so was pretty rusty (and admittedly a little nervous!) I explained this when booking and checked the websites FAQs which trip I should sign up for (Intro or Certified) and signed up for 3 certified dives as suggested. The team on board moved some things around so that I could do an intro dive at the first site (1 dive master between 4, descending on a rope and lots more help with buoyancy etc) before jointing the certified divers at sites 2 and 3. It was the perfect way to get back into it after a long time off and all the staff / dive masters were super helpful, understanding & encouraging. All of the gear was in perfect condition and re-checked by staff before each dive.

🐟 The sites on the Agincourt Reef were stunning, we saw all sorts of coral and wildlife. No other boats around, we had each site to ourselves. The talks on the deck about coral health and fish species were really interesting and well delivered.

🛥️ The boat was modern, comfortable, clean and (importantly) stable in some swell. The never felt overcrowded, it was a really nice group size for the space on the boat.

🦐 Food was great and the catering team was fantastic at adjusting to dietary needs (let them know in the comments box when booking online and the rest happens seamlessly). Was lovely to crack open a cold local beer for the trip home!

✏️ The booking online was super easy and the office team called the day before to confirm pick up / drop off etc. The check-in at the marina was quick and very friendly.

Executive Summary - Great tour, great staff, super efficient, would do again and recommend this tour.

Initially I was planning on going on the QuickSilver Port Douglas tour, but it was fully booked, so the Poseidon was recommended. I was not disappointed one bit. The crew was amazing and the whole tour ran very, very efficiently. Can't say enough about these guys/gals.

The Poseidon was also fully booked come departure time (I think 82 people). I was initially a little concerned about this because I did a smaller tour the previous day and it went quite well (FYI, I was the only diver, so it was me and the dive master!). But never did this tour feel crowded at all.

The way they schedule the activities and run things in parallel makes it feel like there are way less people around. There are snorkelers, intro divers and certified divers and they stagger the groups so we are not all jammed into the back of the boat at the same time. I actually never even saw when the intro divers and snorklers enter the water! The same staggering seems to have happened for lunch, which was very good! There were no line ups which was impressive with all the people on board. They have the system down dialed down to the minute, literally. They would let us know we were one minute out from the dive sites and was time to put on our masks.

I did the 3 certified dives and the highlights were a whitetip reef shark, close up cuddlefish changing colors, a big moray eel and Nemo and super clear warm water!

If I am ever back in town, I will have to do this again and try to experience the glass surface that I missed by one day!! Ugh!!!

Amazing day exploring the outer reef! You get to go to 3 beautiful sites & explore the beauty of the healthy, colourful and glamorous Great Barrier Reef! I did a return trip on the Poseidon bc the crew are always smiling, friendly & professional! The crew are thorough, knowledgeable & prep everyone on board about the dive/snorkel sites. The crew all happily share their knowledge of the site - what coral or big clams to look out for & the types of sea life that typically can be seen. Nathan on the servery bar is knowledgeable with food if you have special dietary requirements. The food is plentiful and well catered with local produce of prawns, variety of fresh fruits, many salads & the delicious chicken! The photographer onboard Pang is very accomodating & manages to get around to photographing all the snorkelers & divers & nails those winning shots for your souvenir of the trip! You can also rent cameras and GoPros to capture your own memories. The lifeguard Finn is lovely & helpful & always on watch so you are always in safe hands! Facilities are well maintained and clean. I cannot fault any of the staff! My beautiful beginner dive instructor Daan was such a happy chap! His calm nature and professionalism really helped me with my trepidation of diving. His beaming love of diving convinced me, & I returned & got certified as a diver! This amazing experience with such a vibrant crew & lovely company, means I will always go on the Poseidon now for my recreational snorkels and dives! The captains are also accomodating to Drone photography as long as there are no helicopter flights nearby.
