Chop Butchery Westfield Penrith — Local services in Sydney

I recently starting shopping at Chop because I liked the arrangement of their marinated meats on display. But for some reason, every time I cooked their marinated meats it tasted funny to me, I played it off as my taste buds are probably just acting up; it’s nothing. then when I bought their honey soy chicken kebabs and cooked them thoroughly through, they tasted sooo foul, like they were off🥴 I read reviews of chop at the nepean centre and the penrith westfield and was shocked to read so many of their meats were foul smelling and clearly not fresh like you would assume from how nice their meats looked. The only meat I bought that didn’t taste bad was their sausages, but because their marinated meats were foul tasting I don’t trust them enough to buy from them again and I also wouldn’t spend my money on a business that clearly doesn’t care about quality control for their meats. I’m thinking cross contamination could be a huge problem as to why their marinated meats taste off?? FOUL-SMELLING MEAT! I used to shop here all the time, never even thought about going to woolies to buy our meats because the staff were very attentive and friendly, and the meats were all good. Come today, we have been given a foul-smelling beef ribs that we even held when we shopped at Aldi. As soon as we were in the counter, everyone beside us were looking thinking were the rancid smell was. We checked our bag and it was the beef from the butcher shop. We took it back and the staff just told us to leave it on the plate and wait for a few minutes and it will be alright. I was brought up in a household where we know if the meat is bad or not.

The only problem is we tossed the meat out because it is foul smelling. That was the condition of the customer service person who reached out to us when we sent a complaint, that he will refund if we will return it. How can you be so serious? We already took the time to tell your staff that the beef was bad and you expect us to return it back? Of course...

Don’t rate the service here at all, went today and waited ages with the staff not paying any attention. Then a male customer comes along and is immediately served. Still no one served me until i asked if i could get help. Three male staff behind the counter all too preoccupied to care to serve waiting customers.
