Used to be a customer here, not super regular. Every couple of months I would say, I would get a couple of bottles of wine. Well, I parked here the other day. Due to the time, I decided I'd get my son first and then get the wine. Well... He yelled out at me very loudly about it being a private carpark etc. I told him I am a customer but I'm getting my son first. He made quite the scene over it at which point I told him I'd move my car and take my custom elsewhere. It is clear he's having issues with people parking there but to be publicly yelled out to when I was infact going to be providing custom was a bit off putting and unprofessional. He also acts weirdly doing creepy big smiles at all the school kids, I think part of his tactic to keep people parking there, I dont know? He probably needs to take his issues to the more appropriate places rather than yelling at the public. Realistically, ALL the parking surrounding the school is private parking. Perhaps address the school or the council regarding the problem. Us parents aren't the problem, we are the side effect of it... No infrastructure to support any parking around the school. Anyways, needless to say, I won't shop here again as I find the behaviour low and petty. Unprofessional to the...
Read moreDisrespectful and Possibly Biased Service I stopped by to pick up beer for my husband, who was on the phone while I spoke with the staff. I asked about pale ales and was met with attitude. When my husband (still on the phone) asked about IPAs, the staff member looked at me and said, “Is he on the phone?” — in a tone that felt unnecessarily condescending. I picked a 4-pack of a higher-end, but not unusual, IPA. At checkout, he made a comment: “Did you make sure he’s happy?” — implying I might return it if my husband didn’t approve. I responded, “It’s just a 4-pack of beer — I won’t be returning it.” As a brown woman, I couldn't help but wonder if part of the attitude was due to my race. The interaction felt dismissive, possibly biased, and made me uncomfortable. I won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend this place — especially to women or people of color who expect to be treated with...
Read moreIt’s that time of the year again which brings a lot of excitement and joy as much as it brings animosity with an increase on criminal activity. However, it’s inappropriate practice, to treat every customer like thieves. Not a nice feeling walking into any store and being treated like you can’t afford their extravagant alcohol prices. The only reason we chose to come here was the convenience after buying a cheese cake from the cheese cake shop and Dan Murphy’s line all the way out the door. Can see why Dan Murphy’s is the number 1 go to. You don’t see shop owners following customers around like they’re all thieves and going to rob the place. Goodness...
