Nice presentation and layout, staff are very friendly. Coffee was served in a take away cup, not really sure why when we were seated, and I am not a fan of that. Menu was okay, not appealing to me, so we ordered two toasted banana breads with butter. I don't know how anyone can get this wrong, but they somehow managed to. The bread was barely warm and I don't think it had been buttered at all. It was pretty awful and dry. Iced coffee was weak. I won't be returning.
Editted to Add : After reading the owners response, I will confirm that we did order a large coffee, which was received in a take away cup.... Still not sure why they cannot bother to serve in an appropriate mug or double walled glass. That would be much better presentation. As for the menu.... A variety of breakfast themed dishes, or a choice of a burger, steak sandwich, prawn linguini or salmon salad is simply not appealing. I am not sure where the desserts were? There was no menu for desserts, nor could I see any. Perhaps there is another menu for lunch items later in the day? If so, that should be made clear and I would gladly have waited for the lunch service. Since I do not eat seafood, I found the menu limited to breakfast or a burger/steak sandwich... ZZZzzzz
As for the jibe about negative reviews for local businesses, yes, fair call on that as I really only take the time to post reviews for places that are especially disappointing. I shall take the time to review good experiences in the future. For the owner to slyly turn my review back onto me, doesn't change the fact that this was not a good experience. My review was fair and reasonable and as I very clearly stated the layout of the Cafe was very nice as well as clean and the staff were...
Read moreI’ve been attending this cafe for a few months now, and have not had a bad experience. The staff are friendly and accommodating with any request. I have food allergies, and have found that Carmen (chef) is friendly, funny, & wonderful, and has made it clear that it is no problem for her to alter any dish that I wish to order. Craig (chef & owner) is a true Aussie battler, a bit of a larrikin, and yes, he’s blind. Sue, (Craigs Mum) is warm and friendly, and great at keeping everything moving and everyone happy. There are other staff, and they are all friendly and competent. The menu is full of tasty morsels, and the portions are quite large. They are always happy to provide a “doggy bag”, which means I get left overs for dinner. This leads me to “Rocco”. Rocco is Craig’s assistance dog. He welcomes people, checks in at your table as soon as your food arrives, to make sure you are satisfied, and will quite happily sit or lay by your table whilst you partake of your meal. The meals here are wonderful, and I find myself always taking home a dessert or pastry from the cabinet, which happens to be next to the register on the way out. As hubby and I are on the road full-time, and generally don’t get to spend much time in one place, it’s special when we find a place that we can feel comfortable and enjoy a good meal. I highly recommend this establishment, and check out their website for...
Read moreMy first visit here and it won't be my last. First impression: wheelchair accessible, clean, inviting and the inside was pleasantly surprising and much bigger to what I was expecting seeing the outside. Inside the welcome was friendly. Staff were polite and helpful. My friend and I ordered the big chief burger and haloumi salad. The meal sizes were very good and well priced. I rarely order a salad, but for something different tried the haloumi one. It was delicious with the chickpeas and pumpkin. Only thing I would have preferred would be to have the pumpkin removed from the skin and diced into the salad, the tomatoes off the vine and the haloumi cut up. We were told this was a new menu and there were lots of great choices. The orange pineapple coconut juice was really delicious. Looking forward to my next visit. Thankyou for a lovely...
