I would have preferred to keep my review to myself but considering that my messages to The Mixx have been disabled after requesting a refund and my phone calls have not been returned I have no choice. I made an appointment, consulted at length and sent through pics of my current hair and the desired hair colour I was after. Let me state- I was NOT changing my hair from one colour to another- my hair was already blonde. I wasn’t sure about needing foils redone but the hairdresser suggested to lighten and frame my face I should have a half head so I agreed. Well...after 3 hours my hair was washed off and I was devastated by the colour of it. Instead of a champagne cream it was a dirty, dark blonde, much darker than even my natural colour. I voiced my concern about this and was told it suited me and that it was my hair’s fault for being too porous and it took up the toner too much( I don’t believe this- I think the wrong colour was used on my hair). I asked them if they could fix it to be what I had asked- the hairdresser then did a bleach wash- completely stripping my hair of pretty much everything. After 4.5 hours and $200 later I left very stressed and running incredibly late. Two days later I washed my hair and the extent of the damage was apparent. It was like straw and I felt that if I even put a straightener near it it would snap off. It was so dry even an Olaplex treatment did nothing. I messaged the owner asking if I could please have a refund. Her response was that she would assess it and they would fix it. After asking numerous times how she thought it could be fixed without dyeing it more and cutting it off she told me they needed to try to fix it before they could refund me. I went back that morning as arranged but the owner wasn’t there. I was visibly upset and again asked for a refund. The original hairdresser also said that she had to try to fix my hair before they could refund me so I agreed to her putting hair treatments in. No attempt to change the hair colour was done just the hair quality. She cut it to get rid the most damaged ends and arranged for me to come back in a week and a half for another treatment and “assessment” by the owner and told me it needed to be cut again in four weeks. I was given some treatment samples to use at home. Today I messaged the owner again to ask if we could discuss a refund. She told me it was a week since I had the treatment put in and that they have “done everything in their power to fixed my hair and would not be providing a refund and that in their professional opinion it was to an acceptable standard of my wishes” even though her employee had booked me in for this Saturday for another treatment to fix it. She then blocked me. So for the record since I can’t do this privately- it was NEVER my wish to spend $200 having my hair destroyed and dyed a colour that I did not ask for. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone ever again and I am disgusted and appalled by the attitude displayed by the...
Read moreThis salon is AMAZING! from the layout, the flexibility and understanding of the staff and just the whole environment. I went and had my hair done to try and get rid of the red tint in it, and I wasn't too happy with the results (as it was red and red is difficult to get out) and after I called them up about my thoughts, they were so sweet and understanding, not rude at all and just full of good energy! They booked me again based off what worked best for ME which was so considerate. MASSIVE THANKS TO SARAH!!!! She was absolutely AMAZING, she was chatty, patient, funny and overall a great stylist to have. Even though we didn't get the exact results, she did an amazing job at getting super close by working with what my hair was like and she made me leave the store with a massive smile. 110% recommend this place and all these lovely girls!! Thankyou once again Mixx, will...
Read moreBooked this business to complete my bridal and bridal party hairstyling, and I am so glad I went in for a trial. The service I received was appalling and I would not call this salon a “professional” place of business. My hairstylist was rude, she proceeded to tell me that my hair was a weird colour and that I should “cut it out”, it was my natural hair colour... My bridal hair fell out within two hours, during which time I had only sat in for a makeup trial. Upon notifying the salon, they did not offer a retrial or a refund, the response was “we’ll make a note”. Pretty poor form considering the hairstyles are expected to last all day, not for an hour or two and especially not before an event has even begun. When I decided to cancel our booking, the lady that took the call was unfazed and had a real “so?” attitude. Extremely...
