Guzman y Gomez - Toowoomba Central — Restaurant in Queensland

Okay so 5 stars might seem high but let me explain. This place is EXACTLY what you ought to expect from a chain Mexican restaurant. Fast. Tasty. Filling. Nothing is gonna rock your world but imagine Mexican McDonald's but also beer. It's just a solid, know-what-youre-getting kind of chain and I'm all about it. My two favourites: Cali burrito and the enchilada. Personally I'm a slow cooked beef man but i've also had both pork and chicken and both were good. Aren't potatoes good? Especially when they're chips. Man I love chips. Like when I was a kid and we drove past McDonald's (actual McDonald's not GYG) I'd say we wanted Macca's but really all I wanted was chips. As an adult whenever I go through a drive-thru all I'm getting is chips. The occasional hash brown, which is really just a giant chip. This is probably why I love the Cali burrito - theres chips INSIDE a burrito. Can recommend the queso fries. I go mild because I'm caucasian but it's balanced well by the creamy cheese. Also cheese? YUM. The enchilada is my other go-to. It's pretty much just a giant burrito - like a burrito you need utensils for. Not available with chips inside. Otherwise flawless. Again, nothing here is gonna wow you but it's just a good staple. As my parents always said about their children; set the bar low and you'll never be disappointed. Nothing to fault so no excuse to deduct any stars, just know that it's a chain restaurant and expect chain...

“I’ve had Enough”..!!! GYG grand central has been my most visited branch for years now but the standards have been rapidly declining that I have visited my last!. I went to GYG grand central on a Saturday night with my family and made a substantial order, I informed at the till that we would sit in, although I was there is no table service during the weekends. My family sat at the table while I waited for 20mins while all the uber eats etc were served as a priority. I then approached the server to ask where my order is and they could not find it. I was then given a bag that was sitting at the side, I was told in a ver arrogant way that it must have been called and insinuated that it was my fault. I let them know of my displeasure and took the bag and left. On the way to the car I noticed there were no drinks and had to go back and get them. When I was home I noticed that there were no fries in the bag. The order was a complete disaster, it soon became clear that my order was put to the side awaiting fries and that’s why it wasn’t called as they forgot about it. The standards have gone and visiting customers are now having to make way for uber eats etc, the problem is they don’t care as they are always busy so my not coming back will not make the slightest bit of...

Worst experience. Waited almost half an hour for my order, half of which was sitting on the counter waiting for chips. Chips were hot and fresh when I got them, burrito bowl went straight in the bin as it was to risky to eat and stone cold. Team lead was the only person working. He was running around, getting abused by customers who were sick of waiting, giving out orders, taking orders and training a young man. Seven other people standing around the kitchen, some on their phones. When they team leader asked the team to work faster he was bullied and made fun of by two of the kitchen staff. Seriously the worst service I’ve ever seen and I ran a restaurant for 25 years. The place wasn’t overly busy, maybe 10 customers and one uber eats order the half hour I was there. I will...
