Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but there were a few irritants that we suggest be adjusted. The place is well located, close to the commotion, yet not too close. Beautiful warm house. We had the 'panorama' room, but the name is misleading, as one window points perpendicular to the others and towards a corner, and the second window points directly at the neighbour's balcony, which in essence means you only have one window with a wonderful view. We also had to figure out things by asking. I wish the place was more proactive in explaining how things work (ordering bread, washing clothes, getting coffee for the room, getting the room serviced, and what is included vs what is an added charge. There is also an additional charge for cleaning that is added when you use some booking agencies (Expedia in our case). The additional cleaning charge came in as a surprise, because we booked so many months ahead, and it was higher than listed. Given that we had to ask to get the sheets and towels changed, this did not feel right to us and we wished the Seehaus would use another method. But like I said, the...
Read moreI absolutely recommend the Seehaus Familie Leifer at St. Wolfgang im Salzkammergut. The rooms are very nice. We had a small studio with a small kitchen, and a balcony that has a nice view of the lake. We travelled as a family, so for us the big plus is the common room on the ground floor, with the big kitchen, the couches, and a small play area for kids when the weather is not great. Of course, the biggest draw of this area is the outdoors, and there is a ping-pong table, trampolines, and the playground outside next to the lake. The hosts and staff are very nice and bonus points for the bread service (and the free jam/nutella/honey, plus the coffee machine, in the common kitchen). Vielen Dank noch mal. Es hat uns...
Read moreThis apartment hotel has probably been just reconstructed - everything looks brand new. We had an apartment with a lake view. There is not much space (26 m2), so the kitchen and dining table is really tiny (we also missed a few pieces of equipment, like grater or peeler - the kitchen is probably meant for basic cooking, e.g. coffee). On the other hand, the bathroom is quite spacy, bed is comfortable and we just loved the terrace - views over the lake with mountains in the background are simply amazing. Reception desk does not work 24/7, but entrance cards could be picked up or dropped off anytime. Breakfast is not included, but fresh bread and buns could be delivered in the morning (for a very...
