If we could rate higher, we would! What a perfect place to stay. The the owners are so very gracious and kind and welcome you into their home as if you are old friends. The breakfasts were hearty and delicious and served in a most charming dining room. Grandmom Christine prepared and served breakfast each day and spent some time chatting with us about the region and the history of the house. Our apartment was spacious, tastefully decorated, and fitted with all conveniences. The Hupfmuhle is located in an idyllic, picturesque setting that lulled us to sleep each night with the sound of a stream babbling right outside our bedroom window and the bed was very comfortable. The apartment was very clean and the owners were more than helpful. You park at the end of the driveway, so they bring in the luggage. They also provided information about local attractions and hiking trails (the trail to the peak of Schafberg runs next to the Hupfmuhle), as well as historical and current cultural information. (Helmut even went so far as to show me the heating system and explained how it work. As an engineer, this was a lot of fun for me!). We truly wish we could have stayed longer and cannot recommend the Hupfmuhle highly enough. We are...
Read moreWe took this bed & breakfast for the first time, because 4 stars Hotel reject our request for 1 night stay (It was Nikolo Day, so Hotel want minimal 3 nights stay). We have no choice and experience for the first time bed & breakfast. The location is not difficult to reach like many people say. We come with 2 children (4&2 years old) and they love climb the road until the Hupfmühle. The room is big and comfortable, feels like your own home. The owner is kindhearted and come directly help for our baggage. The negative is when we need warm water (for example washing hands or shower), took a long time until the warm water come (5-10 minutes!). Breakfast is in order basis, so when you want some eggs you must request it so they cook it for you fresh. For €96/night is a little...
Read moreI stayed here with my husband and 2 children for 2 nights. ||We stayed in a one bedroom apartment. It was spotless and really comfortable.||The family which own it are very friendly and let us check in at 1pm rather than 3pm which was very helpful as our baby needed her nap. Helpful activities suggestions were also given.||The pension is right by a waterfall and the cog railway. My son loved watching both. It also has a private section of lake frontage which we loved. St Wolfgang is gorgeous.||The breakfast was extra but very tasty, especially the bread rolls and ham.||My only criticism would be sometimes it was hard to find someone to ask a question of and on our second morning we weren't offered eggs for breakfast for some unknown reason. ||Overall I would...
