Virgin Active’s Gaborone branch requires significant improvements in several areas:
The thermostat for the larger pool remains unresolved even after six months,resulting in persistently cold water. Maintenance of the gym equipment is painfully slow,leading to limited availability of functional equipment.
The gym’s ventilation system occasionally proves inadequate,with noticeable discomfort upon entering the facility.
The female bathrooms,particularly the two showers adjacent to the steam/sauna room,are in dire need of maintenance. The missing tiles and malfunctioning shower mixer are concerning.

   Read moreThe gym is good enough but the admin and financial management is sub-par and communication very poor. The staff rarely answer the phone and never respond to email. My membership was constantly cancelled, account occasionally over debited or not debited at all and now, a month after terminating membership for my family of 4, my account was just debited this morning. There seems to be no communication between VA Botswana and VA SA, so even when I seemed to resolve issues with VA Botswana staff by speaking to them at the gym, I would still get almost weekly calls from the VA call centre staff in Cape Town demanding payment. Finally cancelled memberships out of frustration but it seems like a cult, one can never financially leave Virgin Active Botswana...
   Read moreThis is the gym and health club that I frequent and I believe that even with it's shortcomings it is still the best overall one in Gaborone and Botswana. Facilities are clean and well maintained and the treadmills seem to undergo regular servicing. They even added heavier dumbells because the old ones only went up till 40kg and some people needed more. Unfortunately they closed the mini bar/restaurant at the front and it was a really nice and convenient feature. Also, they need to add in a rack that allow barbell shoulder presses like the one...
