Last week a group of my friends and I took a bike trip with Rocky Mountain Cycle Tours (RMCT)- "The Best of the West" tour was the one we chose. I knew very little about this company prior to going on this trip and have been on multiple previous trips including with Trek Travel. Although I've always enjoyed the Trek trips, I'd rate the RMCT as superior. Etienne, the young owner, was with us the whole time and switched off between guiding us and driving the support van with a young woman guide, Michaela. They were both professional yet fun and organized an unforgetable trip through British Columbia. I am sure that the trip quality was enhanced by the presence of the owner for the entire trip!

The hotel choices were perfect for our group and the restaurants were chosen with the care of someone who really knew the area.

The individual rides were also well chosen and all of us (in our mid 60's) felt that we successfully participated in the rides.

The two staff members were very helpful throughout the trip, including helping one of us who broke their wrist, and made good decisions when the unexpected arose, such as the fracture and two smoke-filled days when we couldn't ride.

We hope to return soon for one of their...

We just returned from an incredible private multisport trip with Rocky Mountain Tours, guided by the fantastic duo, Etienne and Marek. As a family of five, we were excited about this adventure, and it definitely exceeded our expectations.

Etienne and Marek are true experts. They knew the area inside and out and shared some really interesting insights while also making sure everyone felt safe and engaged. They went out of their way to be accommodating, adjusting the itinerary to fit our interests and skill levels with ease. This thoughtful approach made it feel uniquely ours.

We spent our days hiking, cycling, and rafting, all set against the stunning backdrop of the Rocky Mountains. Every moment outdoors was special, creating lasting memories for our family. It’s clear that Rocky Mountain Tours is committed to providing a top-notch experience. We enjoyed this trip so much that we're already planning our next adventure with them! If you’re looking to explore the outdoors, we can't recommend them highly enough. Big thanks to Etienne and Marek for making this experience truly unforgettable!

I absolutely loved my biking trip from Jasper to Banff. This is my very first 150+ miles ride over 5 days. I was the slowest cyclist in the group and guides were very patient and accommodating. Micheala and Emilie are fantastic guides.

My suggestion for those who want are going to try this tour: Make sure to stop at beautiful views, take a deep breath and take it all in. You are in the rockies not tour de france.

I cannot wait to go back for hiking and experience rockies even closer.

Here are my highlights: Mama bear with 2 cubs. I will never forget this. Medicine lake view with the valley. Peyto lake (dog/wolf shaped) (it's history) Athabasca Glacier. Ten peaks will take your breath away. Lunch by the bow lake while it was raining. It felt like a nice picnic. Ride back from Maligne lake to Jasper Inn. Mt Amery is my absolute favorite so far.

What a blessing to bike among giants (both mountains and...

Fantastic ride and amazing scenery: snow-capped mountains, roaring rivers, waterfalls, and beautiful lakes of many colors day after day. We had great weather and at least 80% strong tailwinds on the ride from Jasper to Banff. I felt sorry for the other tour groups we saw that were going the other direction. Etienne and Michaela, the tour leaders are the only locals running bike trips, predicted the winds and said that they almost always blow in that direction. It's amazing the other groups still go from Banff to Jasper and make the riders fight the wind. Everyone in the group appreciated Etienne's and Michaela's care, passion, and sense of humor. Their instructions on what to do if we saw a bear were spot on when a bear ran across the road in front of me. I didn't panic nor did the bear. It ate its berries and moved on and I had a good story to tell on top of the epic ride.

If you have been dreaming about cycling in the amazing Canadian Rockies, I highly recommend Rocky Mountain Cycle Tours!! The guides were the best! They were ready with what I needed before I even knew what I needed (bike maintenance, snacks, photo ops, and local knowledge). Unlike some of the other groups I saw on the road, our routes were chosen for maximum Rockies enjoyment (cycling on the river side of the road, big climbs before lunch, and cycling towards the best views – who wants the best views at their back?). The bike I rented was a quality bike, fitted to my body. The guides went out of their way to accommodate my plant-based diet. Perhaps the best reason to choose RMCT is that its owner is cycling with you, assuring you have the best experience possible.
