If ever there was a standard for Security or even for the words to protect and serve I honestly believe that Standard is here in the quality of staff, of the security team, and administrative team. The due diligence paid, and any differing in safety, and security blended, to form a net of collective stability, Seen and felt with, for and of each individual, this was something unique to witness, and also to personally experience.
This was the closest yet to the terms: PRIVATE & PUBLIC BUSINESS (entrepreneurial and corporate, included), COMMUNITY, and GOVERNING, blending into one congruent picture., without coming out perpendicular to each other or like a cruel joke wrapped in nails going down a chalkboard, but rather remind me of something akin to Sesame Street or Fred penner or Mr. dress it Mr. Rogers. Even Lego it reminds me of those paintings from the 50s pictures of nostalgia in reference to the words family, community, life, freedom and happiness.
It was very strange indeed looking back but I think everyone should come to this mall. The security team is absolutely phenomenal diverse and balanced it seems to have more response than reaction. The orchestration of care not only for the guests and patrons in addition to the business owners and business employees but also for fellow coworkers was truly outstanding the management of security team, is someone truly Great at leader ship and example but everyone is an integral and equal part of that team and that’s why it works so well.
Administration team is really awesome and although I did not have much time to get to know them if you want to be a part of this community I would recommend getting to know both of these departments there’s some very special people here and I think there’s great things to come for this community it draws people to it Like the sun draws the face of a sunflower.
The statue of Deerfoot is definitely worth standing in close enough to absorb the feeling. One of the coolest statues I’ve seen in Calgary it seems a little weirdly placed but when you stop thinking and just take it in, it’s absolutely amazing, breath taking, and fills your lungs with air so brisk that you feel like you’ve been running with him for that brief second before he flew by you!
Awesome place definitely worth a visit come check it out every time you’ll find another corner of life, that you didn’t know was there. Excellent staff throughout the...
Read moreThis redevelopment of the old deerfoot mall has been planned and thoughtfully crafted. The deerfoot city management team are relevant, unique, present and provide great customer service! We recently took our little one to photos with Santa. While there were a few bumps in the road as it was their second day operating, they handled the wrinkles incredibly well; with humility and poise - ensuring our experience wasn’t tarnished in any way. Even Santa was phenomenal. (We also love all the seasonal decoration and lights that are added along the boulevard every year).
The addition of Linas is top notch. As residents in a neighbouring community, we are excited to visit Lina for future Saturday morning coffees, gelato in the summer and quick dinner stops.
I look forward to the future restaurant area, which I hope opens in the near future. And my only criticism is that there are so many big box/fast fashion stores. I hope that more boutiques or local shops will soon become tenants.
The parking lot is also a pain during peak times. The 4 ways, lack of close parking, and incessant pedestrians that come out of GoodLife can be a nightmare.
Overall, well done Deerfoot City! We are proud to...
Read moreThe recent food court renovations is now the second time in one decade the owners of this mall has screwed over OPA owners. Both owners I personally talked to and were not compensated for their loss in their own business and livelihood. Disgusting business practices.
Furthermore the children's playground that was beside the food court was completely removed in the latest renovations (2024) and no kids space is present at all. Instead there's many rows of ghastly tables and seats completely unfilled.
As a parent I really don't want to come here with my kids. Before families where here regularly.
And the market that's now taking up huge space has everything overpriced by a lot. Yet another reason I don't want to come here.
Oh and the owners still have their heads in the sand about their horrible traffic design. Trying to get out of this place in my car when it's busy is a nightmare, and it would be a war zone if this place actually got busy.
The owners and executives running this place are willing to spend money clearly but not willing to actually make thoughtful decisions, and continue to screw over their tenants.
This is all in 10 years. What does the future bring? I'm...
