We recently had stopped into REGRUB, and let me just say, it was a last minute decision as Lina's was closed.
First off, let's talk about the milkshakes. We ordered the strawberry and chocolate milkshake, and they were absolutely divine. Creamy, thick, and bursting with flavor, they were the perfect way to kick off our meal.
Next up were the truffle cheese fries. Oh. My. Goodness. These fries were out of this world! Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and topped with a generous sprinkling of truffle oil and topped off with melted cheese.. The truffle flavour was rich and decadent, elevating the humble fry to a whole new level of deliciousness.
Now, let's talk burgers. We tried the Spicy Chicken Burger and the Spicy Garlic Breath burger (This is their most popular), and both were absolutely phenomenal. The Spicy Chicken Burger featured a perfectly crispy deep-fried chicken patty, topped with pickled onions, Calabria hot sauce, lettuce, tomato, and their signature Cheeky Sauce. Every bite was a flavour explosion, with just the right amount of heat to tantalize the taste buds.
As for the spicy garlic breath burger, it was a true taste sensation. The chicken breast was juicy and flavourful, complemented perfectly by the tangy pickled onions and creamy cheddar cheese. But the real star of the show was the fermented garlic chili mayo, which added a delightful kick to every bite. And let's not forget the crispy potato threads on top, adding the perfect crunch to each mouthful.
Despite us being the only customers in the restaurant, the staff member who served us was incredibly friendly and attentive. He took the time to explain the menu to us and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. He made our dining experience that much more enjoyable.
Overall, I cannot recommend REGRUB highly enough. From the mouthwatering food to the impeccable service, it's a dining destination that deserves every bit of its five-star rating. Whether you're craving burgers, fries, or milkshakes, REGRUB is a great...
Read moreThis was my first visit to RE:GRUB and while I had high hopes, I must say that they failed miserably, in all aspects.
Difficult to locate. Unless you approach the store from their outside entrance facing Wal-Mart, RE:GRUB is actually quite difficult to find, given that they have NO signage facing the inside food court seating area. One employee stated "well, we have our business name on the napkin dispensers"... Oh, silly me! How could I have been so stupid as not to check the napkin dispensers??? Absolutely ridiculous!
No menus. I understand that due to COVID, they decided against having hand-held menus... But I cannot understand how they figure that everyone has a cell phone readily available to view their online menu. Here's a novel idea: get a menu board mounted on the wall behind the cashier like 99% of fast food places! There's really no excuse for not having a menu board.
No cash payment. I assume that, just like #2, this decision is due to COVID as well.
Inconsistency. Despite not accepting cash or having hand-held menus due to COVID, the staff will hand you a large toy car with your order number written on it to take to your table while you wait for your food. I guess these toy cars are immune to COVID?
Heavily overpriced and the quality of food is mediocre at best. 2 orders of mini corn dogs (6 pieces each) and 2 milkshakes came to $45.00. The mini corn dogs were alright, albeit slightly burnt, but for $9.00 for 6 pieces, it was a rip off. The milkshakes were way too sweet (and that's coming from someone with a sweet tooth). The caramel on one of the milkshakes was oozing off the top, making my hand and wrist sticky.
Outside seating area has a wasp/bee problem, making it near-impossible to sit comfortably as they buzz around you.
Overall, I will admit that the milkshake toppings are a unique and visually impressive concept but everything else fell short. Unless they get their act together, I really doubt the impressive toppings will be enough to keep their...
Read moreI’m the last guy to shill for a company/ product but I also believe in recognizing something/ someone when the experience is great. Went here last night with my wife, I got a vintage deluxe, cheese and bacon, my wife got the veggievore and we shared an order of the onion rings. The onion rings.....amazing, best in the city, hands down. Fresh, crispy, syrup drizzle.....who knew?!? But it works and it works well. Now my burger....I like to think of myself as a bit of a burger aficionado. Stuck on a deserted island, only one food for the rest of your life? A burger. And now, a this burger from this place. Juicy, fresh, great portion size. The bacon...not McD’s ‘bacon’ strips....you know what I mean. But real, crispy, tasty bacon. Fresh produce. Ya, I know, i’ve Used the word fresh a few times but thanks the point. These are the kinds of businesses we need to support right now, in this province, in this continued down turn. These guys did great food, friendly, personal service. They’re trying and it shows. My new favourite burger shack. I’ll most definitely be back as long as the quality, service, and value remain. (Oh ya, the value, my burger for $12.00...waaaay worth it. You’d spend far more on 17th at some of the pubs and such for this quality and taste). Again, this may come across as shilling but it isn’t. No affiliation, no skin in the game...just a great experience and one that has made this guy a repeat customer. Best of luck...
