Update: October 3, 2024...NOTHING HAS CHANGED. Everyone seems to hate working here because there is NEVER any customer interaction. NONE of the employees ever smile. Don't visit this location if you want fresh produce. Most of the meat is near the expiration date for full price.
I have worked in retail for over 20 years. For most of that I have held management positions. Most recently, as an auditor/loss prevention. I know how companies train their staff when it comes to suspicious customers. I know the code words, ect. For some reason, the staff in this store have decided that I am one of those customers. This store is close to where I live. Sometimes I am there everyday. My boyfriend loves the chicken wings here. We have a small apartment, and I usually shop to plan our meals for a few days at a time. I like to take my time when I shop. Sometimes I even go back to an aisle that I have already been in because I forgot an item. I don't make a list, so this happens often. I also like to go down every aisle. This store makes it so obvious when I am there. I would honestly say that when I am in there almost everyone working gets sent down the aisle to walk past me. Someone will randomly have one item in their hand to put away. They will be right by me looking in my basket, as they try to figure out where that item goes. It will be as random as a can of soup when I am in the cleaning aisle. I hear the code pages. The older security guard is fine. There is one younger guy that has some kind of complex that he is trying to prove to himself. He will always move to stand in front of what ever check out I am at. Then quickly moves to the exit to blatantly try to stare into my purse and bags. I have walked out with my purse wide open, and finally one time asked if he needed to look inside. I have gone in without my purse, and still get treated this way. I used to find it annoying, because I don't steal. This does not happen when I shop at other grocery stores. Now, I just find it amusing. This place is good for the deli, bakery and hot foods. It is convenient for me because it is close to home. If you don't want to get the same service as me, don't plan on being in there very long, or shopping there frequently. They obviously don't put value in regular customers who are willing to spend a lot of money there.
Jan.27, 2020. Just came back from there. Only went because I was in a rush. I prefer the Safeway or the Co-op, because the staff are so friendly and helpful! Clean store, but again why are the staff always following me? No one there EVER asks if you need help. They just watch you go down every aisle. I hate to signal one person out, but hey they do that to me when I am SHOPPING & BUYING from there...the black security guard is a problem. He either follows me, or has the staff...
Read moreJune 27; early morning. Didnt get a receipt at the self ckout kiosk. The help person (nice guy) had to call the âmanagerâ bc he couldnt get it either. I didnt paid for bags and didnât want to walk out full of groceries without bags and no proof of purchase. The mngr couldnât resolve the issue and I told him; I dont really need a receipt but I dont want to have issues walking out of the store without a receipt. So he replied in an exaggerated and very displeased tone and manner: âWell... there is no one at the door; why would somebody stop you or say anything on your way out of the store.....?â First of all... CHILL THE EFF DOWN!!!!!!! Im not here for you to lecture me on how your security system works (or doesnt)... There is a reason why non white people have to be particularly careful not to be mistaken in partaking in criminal activity like, for example, walking out of a store with merchandise and no proof of purchase. Contrary to popular believe I know is not what people think because every time I enter a store with pictures of thieves at the entrance is nothing but white people.... go check yourself. It is your LEGAL OBLIGATION to provide a receipt or note of sale. Not only your manager fails spectacularly with the simplest task of re-printing a receipt but also fails miserably in the most basic customer service skills by releasing his frustration (of his own incompetence) on a customer who was not luck enough to have chosen a properly working self ckout kiosk.
EDIT: My reply to the âownerâsâ response. If you really cared for your customers, you would be doing things about their mistreatments in your company, instead of asking them to âget in contact⌠to investigate furtherâŚâ. I have already provided enough information for your company to locate the transaction, customer, help person in charge and manager on duty. And you still need your costumer to get in contact with you to recall the experience? Iâve worked in customer service for many years, and I know you do not need the customer to get back to you once their experiences have been brought up. You can totally dig the information up if you really want to; it is a matter of will. Your response helps to understand how entrenched it is, in the organizational culture of your company the attitude of not giving a damn but surely make it look as if you do. Just like your manager on duty pretending he would fix (what he never could) and once my real concern was expressed, I got no help but his belligerent and defensive attitude. Your response is rather P A T H E T I C. If by chance you manage to identify me, do not get in contact. I am not interested in other of your responses. I already threw away my Moore card and I do not think I will ever visit any of your...
Read moreIâve shopped at this Save-On since the day it opened, and honestly, Iâll never go back after what happened. I found a foreign object, which originally looked like a tooth, but after it floated in water, must've been a bug with a hard shell.. INSIDE A BANANA...that my babies and I had already eaten from. You can imagine how horrified that is as a mom --the thought that my babies could've choked on it still makes me sick, especially since a couple minutes could've been life threatening if I hadn't seen it.
I did everything I was supposed to: reported it to Save-On and even the CFIA. And yet? Nobody at Save-On gave me any answers to come to a final resolution... not even any accountability. Just silence, like my familyâs safety wasnât worth their time. At first they seemed concerned.. But eventually All I got was passed back and forth and the only attempt at finding out what the object even could be, was at the cost of be having to surrender the object and would never know what it was or get answers. Having had this thing in the food I BOUGHT from this place, I have the right to know what the hell it was, especially knowing I feed my babies with the food from here! I haven't had any follow up so I think that says how worried they are to even come to a resolution. I am a single mother, I don't have the time or money to go ahead seeking legal counsel, so I guess writing a review was the only way I thought I could warn other people about the dangerous produce this company carries- especially for families.
Itâs not just about me...this could happen to anyone. If they canât even be bothered to take something like this seriously, how can we trust their food at all? DO NOT TRUST THE PRODUCE!
So if youâre shopping here, especially if youâve got little ones, please check your produce carefully when eating... Honestly, after this, I wouldnât even risk buying any open produce here... The way they handled it (or didnât handle it) says it all!
I honestly would expect most people to have children who work here, especially the head office, this company should be ashamed of how you treated me and this situation. I'm sure if it was their babies it would've been a different process... Disappointing for a family oriented business.
1 Star BC the cashiers are all amazing to not their fault..
Can't trust any of our...
