Very dissapointed. The store's website says the featured beef farm they source from is grass fed/finished and low starch grains are only used as feed in very rare circumstances. However, when I inquired at the store they had NO grass finished beef (other than frozen ground). Also, their webste says they have a lamb supplier. But they had NO lamb in the shop.
I bought 1 lb of lean ground beef which cost $10. That's pretty pricey for grain finished. I also bought 2 NY strips which cost just under $50. OUCH! They did have really nice fat marbling (which I would expect because of the grain finishing).
I used the ground to make smash burgers on my grill. They came out nice, but I attribute that to the seasoning I put on the meat and the burger toppings. Honestly I could have achieved the same end result with grocery store ground for half the cost.
I cooked the NY strips sous vide with a Montreal steak spice to medium rare then finished with a quick, blazing hot sear on the grill. I found the meat flavour to be rather bland. Since these were grain finished, I could have achieved the same end result with a prime cut out of the butcher's case at the grocery store for 10% to 20% less.
I don't mind paying a higher prices if the quality is there to set it apart, but that is not the case here.

Came to shop looking for the perfect roast for a meal I was hosting. Was quickly greeted and got to talking about the meal requirements and was given suggestions and advise to ensure I had enough for everyone.
Ended up buying a couple 4lb Sirloin roasts. The beef is Alberta Raised, hormone free, grass finished and then dry aged. I can tell you that this beef's flavour and texture was exceptional and an example of the world class beef being produced in this province.
Besides the quality of meat at Harry's, the skill demonstrated in the trimming and tying of the roasts was very impressive. Once tied the roast were almost identical in length, size and thickness, making cooking to temperature so easy. The roasts were secure and held up to handling during the prep and searing process and held up over the cook.
At Harry's I got way more than just a roast slapped on a styrofoam plate and covered in plastic wrap. They took the time to ensure every detail was considered and this is mark of true professionals.

These guys absolutely rock Korean cut short ribs, I have gotten short ribs more than a dozen times and they are better than any restaurant I have been to. I also love their frozen Argentine shrimp. The chicken is high quality. I am also pretty picky when it comes to sausage, I don't eat any of the commercial brands, and Harry's is on par with local favorites. Their meat box deals are also great, and I take advantage of the savings regularly so that I have lots of great options immediately and to throw in the freezer for later.
