Greatest outdoor show!
The variety of things you can do, and all the food you can eat. There is something for everyone.
Rodeo - you can get standing room tickets for $18, but can only purchase on the grounds. For standing room, try to avoid a hot day as there is no shade at all down there. You can get tickets in the covered area (price ranges). We got our tickets for around $70.
Nashville North - Try to go just before the rodeo gets out, to avoid the rush and lineup. Although the lineups are not as bad as they used to be. The space is quite large now, with a couple of food trucks and ATCO bathrooms. You can get spicy cheesy fries, which are quite good after a few drinks.
Food I tried this year: Colossal onion - it’s pretty tasty, but actually quite large, and probably meant to be shared between 4+ people. Definitely worth trying once.
Mini donuts - a classic! Got them from “those little donuts” truck, and found they were not as fluffy as some other places. Would get them somewhere else.
Fried Oreo - very good, would get them again!
Poutine - The poutine truck by the BBQ row is the best. The fries are thick, the cheese is melty, and the...

Families, try to visit in the early hours of the morning as it gets too busy and crowded if you have small children. I’m giving 1 star to the terrible customer service of some workers ,specially the young people who couldn’t care less and have no common sense on how to assist visitors in need. For years I have visited and we had a one time incident where a person was unable to keep walking and they wouldn’t even try to provide a wheelchair when we needed one. they keep showing us where to go to but wouldn’t try to help us out (three people in a row)Instead I had to go all around the park trying to find the place where they could rent one. This year I was with a screaming child and offered my ID to be able to go inside the bathrooms in the grand stand show, again the two young people were not helpful at all! They sent m across to find the other washrooms. I find that the older workers and manages are super helpful and will try to assist you but the young ones don’t...
Read moreTo be honest the stampede is the same year over year there is no creative or innovation to provide us with different experiences. The food inside become more and more expensive now on average it’s $20-$30 each food not like before it’s below $20 sometime below $10. It’s no longer like before. The rides are the same and plus there is lots crowd with limited seating available so we have to walk and eating the food at the same time. Parking is limited too and parking fee is super high if you don’t want to drive transit is crowded as well plus this year the C-Train is under construction so there is a lot of congestion near the station. Now the owner of Calgary Stampede is pursuing profit more than providing attendants better experience. Obviously they don’t want to invest into maintenance or getting some unique equipment or rides for us to experience. Very disappointed. I still remember before Covid we love go stampede every year now as a Calgarian we already feel bored...
