This place was BUSTIN it up def try if you’re in Calgary. My friend from Toronto recommended it to me and I’m so glad she did! After Van Leewuens or whatever it’s called in NYC a few weeks ago I was like okay it was good but it made my tummy hurt and the specialty flavors got overwhelming the more you ate them. However the flavors at Village are definitely authentic but they don’t overwhelm your taste buds making it hard to eat the massive scoops they give you and you can gobble the ice cream down easily. They also (not unique to here) let you try flavors (I tried three which I all liked including the mini donut flavor but I thought I can eat mini donuts all the time I want CANADIAN flavors) which I appreciate. They also have some nice benches outside where you can sit. Oh ALSO the waffle cone is so worth it! It was so tasty and crunchy and it’s only $1 CAD which is pretty good esp to me as an American where add ons are like $2 usd each… def try this place!! The staff are all really nice here and I def would come back again if I lived in the area.

Village Ice Cream on 10th Ave is a must-visit for anyone who loves ice cream. Every scoop here is rich, creamy, and packed with flavor—you can tell they put a lot of care into their recipes. The toasted coconut ice cream is outstanding. It’s smooth, lightly sweet, and has that perfect nutty coconut flavor that isn’t overpowering. If you’re a coconut fan, this one is addictive. The chocolate ice cream is another favorite—deep, velvety, and not overly sweet. It tastes like real chocolate, with a richness that makes it feel indulgent but still refreshing in ice cream form. Their Ice Capp flavor is a game-changer. It tastes like a creamy frozen cappuccino, with just the right balance of coffee and sweetness. Perfect for anyone who loves their iced coffee but wants it in dessert form. On top of the amazing ice cream, the staff are always friendly and welcoming, and the shop has a fun, laid-back vibe. Whether you’re grabbing a cone, a cup, or taking home a pint, you really can’t go wrong. Village Ice Cream is truly one of Calgary’s gems!

Got the two hills earl grey and north 49 honey berry in a waffle cone. And cheesecake and shredded coconut in a cup. For a Wednesday afternoon passed lunch hour and being almost in the middle of nowhere, it was super busy! When we got there no one was in the line. The moment we got our order and sat down, we realized a 20-people line had formed! And there were about 10 people in the shop too already when we entered. We found out about this place from a blog who had put together an itinerary for a day in Calgary. Our order came to about $10 per person including tip and tax for 2 scoops per each order. The portion was really big!! My favorite was the honey berry one of all the 4 flavours.

Great experience.

It's a funny place to visit as a tourist at night because it is in this quiet part of downtown and you think you're lost...when all of a sudden you're found!

Warm lights illuminate the off-street location and a loose lineup of friendly people (well, we're all about to have ice cream, so...) makes you feel like you're in the know and about to share something special...which you are!

Sample as many flavours as you'd like. I fell for the seasonal (limited time) Spiced Banana Coconut Milk (real banana!) and my true love was the Salted Caramel. The only one I wasn't fond of was the Coffee, but that has more to do with the local coffee they use as the base, which isn't my favourite. The Earl Grey ice cream was tempting but I'be saved that for another time. Staff were patient and pleasant as we got to the counter, sampled and ordered.

The waffle cones are fresh and honestly the best I've ever tasted. I ordered 2 kid size scoops in a cup with the cone on top.

There are a couple seats inside and seats...
