It was NHL game night, Tuesday. Melrose (inside Cowboys Casino) was chosen, as it was close to the Saddledome. We won tickets 🎟 to the game from work and we are not really sports fans. It was more of a fun night out and to explore. We did not make a reservation at Melrose, but we were seated within 5 min, super fast as the place was packed. I did not realize this was the same Melrose from 17th Ave, which I had frequently been to throughout the 90s. Sitting at the bar, as busy as it was, we expected a delay. To our delight, Monica asked for our order, which we had time to pick everything we wanted. What made us super happy was the fact that Monica repeated our order back to confirm, great work and respect to Monica. She also offered a sample of a beer before ordering, nice touch. We had a couple of beers 🍻, Smokey Bacon 🥓 Burger 🍔 (which was AWESOME), and calamari which was great. We enjoyed our time at the bar, eating and drinking. Visited Melrose for dinner while here on an extended weekend stay with my son. The restaurant is located in the Cowboy Casino. There was no wait and plenty of seating. I sat at the bar to catch the NBA championship game. Started off w/a Cadillac Margarita 10/10. Probably one of the best I’ve had in a while (ended up having two😋). For my meal I ordered the hot honey pizza (added sausage), side Caesar salad and fries. OMG ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! As you can see from the pic the pizza was beautifully prepared and just as tasty. The balance of sweet and heat from the honey and buffalo sauce was mouthwatering perfection. The Caesar salad was the perfect combination to cool the palate from the spicy pizza. The fries were nice and hot. Overall 10/10. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
