The rooms are nicely decorated and large. They have mini fridges, coffee makers, and a microwave which is great for a long stay. However, housekeeping does a terrible job. That for me is a big no-no.

We stayed 6 nights and on the second day I asked for our room to be cleaned the next day. All housekeeping did was make the bed and give us fresh towels. Absolutely nothing else was cleaned. So I called the front desk and asked if there was some kind of miscommunication and they apologized and said no. It was indeed unusual and that they would put the request in again and talk to housekeeping. The next morning as we were leaving I ran into housekeeping just outside our door. To be sure I reiterated that the floors needed vacuming and moping and that the surfaces needed cleaning as well as the usual. The housekeeper said she would take care of it but that they only fully clean the rooms after a person checks out. Otherwise they just bring new towels, make the bed, and take out the trash! So I mentioned i would like the room cleaned as though we were checking out. She said she'd let the person in charge of our room know. It never got done. However, the floors were swept and the desk was cleaned but the dust on the window sill and air conditioner from when maintenance came to repair the blinds that fell on my head was still there.

(Yes the blinds were broken and when I tried to open them they fell on my head. It was actually kind of funny and I wasn't hurt. Maintenance was fantastic, came immediately, and did a great job fixing the blinds.)

But as for housekeeping, it's quite simply unacceptable. Particularly in a hotel, when, you don't know who last stayed in the room or how clean they are. Housekeeping is the most important part of a hotel stay.

I wish I had more positive things to say but the lack of proper housecleaning really ruins a stay for me.

Yes those are mysterious yellow stains on the bed spread. Some of the towels...

I'll try to be brief, the hotel, rooms and service, etc was all really great, no lock on the bathroom and noise from the street was no great but not horrible. And let me say this next point is not the hotels fault at all, but if you are traveling with a family you should know. I am just going to come out and say it and you can think whatever you want about me.... The area the hotel is located in is absolutely overrun with Homeless people that are clearly high on something. I have no problem with homeless people at all.... I live in Montreal and we have no shortage of homeless people. HOWEVER, the homeless people we encountered all around the hotel we absolutely terrifying, I was with 3 other men whom do not shy away from confrontation (to put it nicely), we have all never seen anything like we did around this hotel. Meth heads and crack heads everywhere, doing drugs in the alleys and street corners, Screaming at the top of their lungs at everyone passing by, basically overdosing in the parks. It was everywhere and to the point where you actually don't feel safe. That's all I am going to say about staying here.... If you have young kids or just don't appreciate being harassed by meth heads, stay out of the east end and do not stay here, even though it is not the hotels fault. They were great and the rooms were great and if you do not plan on walking anywhere and just taking Ubers everywhere then fine.... although while waiting for an Uber right outside we saw a huge meth head run down the street towards us swinging a 6 foot metal pole over his head like a lightsaber screaming like a banshee. Good luck to you if...

Arrived in Calgary earlier than expected and the Front Desk Clerk checked me into my room without a problem. She was friendly and even recommended a few delicious steakhouses in the neighborhood.

The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Though I was on a top floor, I could hear the train/tramway very clearly; even the voice recorder app on my phone could pick up the sound. After about three hours of enduring this, I called the front desk and spoke with Abu. He let me know that the tramway runs frequently and the service ends closer to 2.a.m. He immediately offered to substitute my room for one that would be facing away from tracks. Though, I said I’d see if I could put up with it, Abu stressed that it would not be a problem to change my room. He proposed that that I call him immediately should I change my mind.

After 20 mins, I called him back! However, because he was with a client, he promised to call me back shortly. He managed the other client, sorted the room change and reconnected with me in less than 10 minutes! I received my new room key and was in my new quiet suite in 15 mins!

I have stayed in high end and mid-level hotels throughout Canada for five days each month for the last year and half. Abu’s excellent customer service is a solid contender against brands such as Le Germain Hotel in Calgary, Intercontinental in Toronto and the Westin Nova Scoatian in Halifax.

Abu did not make me feel like a bother; he was ready and happy to help. I commend his customer service & time management abilities. I would return to this hotel before others in the neighborhood because of his...

worst experience, the primary fault is the wall can not proof any wood, the distance between you and your neighbor is like 20 cm because the beds are head to head you can clearly hear what they talk, even when I was watching movies with iPad in half volume, the complaint to the front desk twice which sucks, plastic curtain sound is very loud, you not only can here from your neighbor, but also the whole buildings. And there are no kettle or bottled water offer you, so I bought my own kettle which is hilarious. In addition, the pillow here is so weird not comfortable, feel like a 9 dollar Walmart pillow filled with garbage sponges. I am living here for four days, all I know about room service is smiling to you without doing something useful, room service only came once to change towel and that's it, they are not throwing garbage or change new sheet, room look the same after the service. Old television are more like a radiation decoration, I think only my grandpa would like to watch lol. If you have to choose this hotel(impossible) you better bring your own shampoo and body lotion, my head scalp feels itchy after use shampoo and body lotion are not making enough bubbles to cover your whole body. Room is very dark during the night all the lighting source are from a table lamp and a small lamp on the other side, the lamp I bought from IKEA for 15 dollar is the way better. A man call damn Daniel is so stupid because he was not let my uber courier go upstairs while others did let courier go up. I am totally disappointed, generally speaking if you have 220 dollar go other hotels you have the way better choice.

Housekeeping needs to improve! There was an issue every day - they left a huge mess of towels on the floor (and we didn't leave the towels like this), only provided decaf coffee, left dirty disposable cups in the room, etc. Despite being tidy people ourselves and usually tidying up before leaving the room, the housekeeping staff only made the bed and did not attend to other cleaning duties. This led me to wonder if their behaviour was somehow related to the new 'tipping culture' where it is apparently expected that each customers/room pay extra or tip for proper service. If this is the case, it's a concerning and unacceptable practice. This not only impacted our overall experience but also made me question their trustworthiness. This is esepcially concerning as there are no safes in the rooms which I assumed was standard for hotels. Additionally, when I requested morning caffeinated coffee from the front desk, I was informed that housekeeping was not on duty yet, which made their poor service my problem. During my four-night stay with my husband, who is a Hilton Rewards member, we noticed that despite the renovated and updated rooms, the walls were quite thin, and the air conditioning unit was excessively loud, even with earplugs. The hotel's downtown location is convenient and is walkable to many things, but it's important to note that it's in close proximity to a homeless shelter, which made us feel uneasy even in the day time and unsafe walking back to the hotel after dinner, prompting us to rely on Uber for transportation if we didn't drive.
