Amazing Escapes — Local services in Fort St. John

We have been to Amazing Escapes about 4 times now. Usually we have a lovely time. This time we did Little Red Riding Hood. I would NOT recommend this room at all. One of the final puzzles is a 3d printed maze. Only one person can ‘solve’ it because it involves holding the hand held maze and having to guide a small pin through it. It has nothing to do with the room, in fact the person working told us it is “a time waster.” We had about 20 minutes left on the clock when we got to that ‘puzzle’. We asked for help and that was when he said there is no way for him to help us, we simply need to open the maze and retrieve the next clue and that it was there to be a time waster. We ended up being stuck on that maze for the remainder of the game. We don’t always make it out of the rooms and that’s okay! But we felt cheated out of the experience because the puzzle didn’t involve math, or skill or any thing else these rooms typically require. Usually a puzzle in the room is able to be helped along with a clue (if you need it). It’s not often some random maze that can only be solved by a single user fiddling with a cylinder. In the end we found Little Red Riding Hood to be a complete waste of money. It was pretty good up until that point. Then it became clear that the effort put into this room was minimal.. I would still recommend Amazing Escapes to anyone in the fsj area wanting to do an escape room, but don’t even bother with Little Red...

I never leave reviews like this but I can’t let this go. Someone needs to hear it. The owner of this establishment was the most abusive, disrespectful and rude adult in here tonight to a bunch of 11-12 year old boys and their father coming in for a birthday party. She said this is not a child friendly place, she is not a baby sitter and that kids shouldn’t be laughing or high-fiving each other as it is disrespectful. I am appalled because that place is advertised as “fun and kid friendly” and she made it very clear - this is not the case. This woman berated the father calling him down, threatening him and telling him he’s a bad father because these kids were disrespecting her. I just want say for the record - that these kids did absolutely NOTHING wrong and we’re just excited to go in. I know a few of these kids parents and I will 100% be telling them exactly how their kids were treated tonight along with how the dad was spoken too and treated as well. I will never step foot in this establishment again and I will never recommend it to anyone else either. No one - especially young children deserve to be verbally abused by a stranger or adult in a power of authority position. This is COMPLETELY out of line and uncalled for and no child or parent ever deserves this kind of treatment. I’ve been to Amazing Escapes twice now, and love it the more times I go. The rooms are very nicely decorated, and the staff is excellent to deal with.

The room are challenging, but the staff are Will to give you tips, and don’t make you feel like an idiot.

I love that this is a different, local company that offers such a unique experience.

If you’re a claustrophobic person, don’t feel intimidated. Are you “locked” in a room? Yes, can you press a button any time you want to get a break? Yes! If you have to use a washroom, take a break etc, all of it’s allowed, just remember the timer keeps going.
