I have had no issues with the store, but nothing but problems with the auto service section.
I brought a tire I had purchased at a Canadian tire several months before for a puncture repair. I passed the service adviser the tire, and he wordlessly began ringing up the bill. I asked if it made a difference that I had purchased the tires at Canadian tire, and his response was "I don't believe you did". Thinking it was a joke, I replied that it was not at this specific location, but I did buy them from a Canadian Tire, as would be clear if my service history was consulted. After giving him my phone number to do just that, he doubled down by telling me that the tire brand was weird and he was certain I did not purchase them from Canadian Tire. I pointed out that it was a Dunlop tire, at which point he said he now believed me. No apology was offered.
Several days later I returned to this location to inquire about an issue an independent tire shop had brought up about wheels I had purchased at Canadian Tire, and had the misfortune of being 'helped' by the same adviser who had called me a liar twice the previous time I had been in. To avoid the same issue as before, I asked if he could check if I had purchased the wheels at Canadian Tire. Upon confirming that I was indeed being truthful, I explained the issue as I understood it, and asked his opinion on possible solutions. Rather than provide information, this adviser said that the problem didn't exist. I assured him it did, as otherwise I would not have brought the tires in to be looked at by the other tire shop. Still insisting the problem was imaginary, the adviser said the technicians at the other shop are probably just kids. Surprised by his utter unwillingness to be of assistance and his confrontational way of interacting with customers, I retorted that the technicians at the independent shop were significantly older than the service adviser was himself. In response, he nodded toward the shop floor and said he "has seen guys twenty years older" than himself "destroy cars". First, to imply to a customer that the adviser has personally seen technicians that might be working on the customer's vehicle "destroy cars" takes a special lack of self awareness. Second, he was the one who brought up the age of technicians as a proxy for experience; providing anecdotes to the contrary is nonsensical. Finally, after I said I was not there to argue and only wanted assistance with my issue, he once again called me a liar and insisted that the issue did not exist.
To top off the experience. the adviser did not hit the button to open the security bar to allow me to exit, forcing me to exit through the main store.
If you see a service adviser with rectangular glasses, short, light brown hair, and a name tag that I think says Ryan, prepare...
Read moreThis place was recommended to me to change oil for my Audi, and it was the worst recommendation!! never again!!. Its $119 for full package oil change and car check. The excuse for the mistake they have done in car its because “new hire they do mistakes”!.. So its ur fault… At the same day evening I stuck on the road getting alert in my car screen that engine heated is high!!! I parked my car thankfully was close to gas station, Im only 7 min away from parents home so I didn’t drive much after I left their place! Again Thankfully my husband and father came opened the car front and found the coolant hose is not in the right spot!!! Not clipped!! Both were shocked said why they opened it from the hose?? Instead of the lid!! Ok lets say they were just checking to make sure or what ever.. all the coolant water allover the wires near to dynamo and coolant trunk is almost empty!! we managed to clean up their mess put the hose back and fill the trunk again. I went to them back to auto service looking to speak with manager or supervisor the employee said no one available till Tues! “How can I help you?!” I told him about what happened, he said “let me see what can I do” he went to the mechanic who worked on it and verified with him and then came back to tell me “ he said he didn’t do it.. but even though you need to know its new hire too and he might forgot to put the hose back!” … So I said is it my fault that I trusted your company??!! Is it my fault and I could have took off the hose mot him?!! Do I seems like I just to come and waist my time complain for you and hear your excuses??!! Im a person who place review for every place I get service with and you are careless to help!! his respond was “ go a head and place what you want I don’t care” I wasn’t mad or rude to him but he did!! With his respond. I’m placing this honest review for ppl who doesn’t want to waist their money or damage their cars and or deal with rude grumpy ppl they hate to provide good quality of service, because they don’t like their jobs!!! In the end they will not respect you or be fair with the terrible mistakes they do on ur car.. With them its gonna be always ur fault. Also you will be told to communicate so they can fix with you their horrible service and its gonna be waste of time with the manager or store manager that comes with same rep grumpy personality and I have written approve. This place not worth waste ur money...
Read moreupdated (Jan 1st 2021) Took my car back to Honda dealership to get it fixed instead and it was done right. While I appreciate the offer from Canadian Tire Auto Service Manager's (Fix the Combination switch for free) , there is no way I will bring my car back there for any non basic services especially when it is safety related. How can trust the shop when they cannot even put a cover back on? Where's the check list? Lastly, Honda Tech commented the cover/housing clip is broken in the service notes (The one left on the passenger by the Canadian Tire Tech). Gained 1 star for the Canadian Tire Auto Service Manager calling me back, lost 1 star for breaking my housing/cover. This is not about getting something back from Canadian Tire, its about trust. On a positive note, good job on the diagnostic, the Canadian Tire Tech was spot on with the diagnostic, giving 1 star back.
Original Review Below I just finished my light bulb replacement and electrical diagnostic at the Auto Service. $250.00 dollars later, the person who did the diagnostic thoughtfully left the ignition cover/housing for me on the passenger seat. I wonder what other Easter eggs the tech left as a bonus. The customer service in the front said the person who serviced my vehicle is very good at electrical. (For the record Auto Customer Service never did claim the tech is very good at putting things back to together so I will not hold the Customer Service to that) Now image yourself letting this location do your 100 point inspection. You might end up with a 99 points instead of a 100 if you are lucky enough. It is a pretty expensive experience for what I got. I expected better workmanship for that kind of pricing. Unless I am desperate, I don't think I will take my car to Canadian Tire again. Stay safe everyone, and have a...
