If you want real running advice, go to a store with trained staff who actually know how to guide people with specific concerns.
I came in looking for shoes that wouldn’t give me blisters like the 1080s did, hoping to give Ne Balance a second chance. I told the saleswoman my concern several times. She did a foot scan, said I had high arches, and when I asked if the 880s would work better, she said yes. That reassured me enough to buy them. She also sold me $70 insoles that were supposed to help.
I went for one short run, using only those insoles — not even the originals — trying to follow her advice and avoid the same issue. But the same blister pain came back. I stopped immediately, kept the shoes in perfect condition, and returned them 5 days later, still well within the 45-day return policy.
I did get my refund. But what truly shocked me was how I was treated. This guy "Dylan" didn’t even ask what went wrong. He just asked if I wanted another size. I said no, because the shoes simply weren’t right for me. He checked the shoes several times, got the return and the only thing he said was:
“Next time, try not to use the shoes.” Seriously? How else am I supposed to know if they work? Can I know the future?
I did my research. The 880s are supposed to be more stable. That’s why I came to the store — to get proper guidance. I acted as responsible as I could, and still ended up feeling judged. I didn’t even try to return the $70 insoles. I kept them, even though they’re now useless to me.
If you're going to shame customers for following your return policy, then change it — or train your staff to treat people with basic respect. Avoid this place so you won't waste your money or...
Read moreI asked for a nine and a half in the New Balance 1080v14 and the sale rep Sarfraz sold me a nine. When I tried it in the store, they seemed fine. But when I got home I realized they where the wrong size. either he switched them or never cared for the size the customer asked for. Now I have to drive one hour from the west island to dwntwn to return them completely, because they claim , they don't have my size in stock anymore. I decided to just purchase them online on New Balance.ca as mistakes like this never happen on New...
Read moreMet Brandon at the store today and he took genuine interest in our day, asking us what brought us into the store. I personally do not reside in Montreal, he proceeded to ask further questions about what we were into. He wrote down a handful of personal recommendations he thought we would enjoy to visit. It’s really nice having someone be more than just an employee— Brandon was a nice guy who just happened to work at New Balance St Catherine....
