B&R European Deli — Local services in Niagara Falls

I know this place has many good reviews, but it is my experience (and not just once!) the many good reviews are probably from people of their own culture! I have been there to purchase numerous times and each time I've gone, the lady at the counter speaks to her customers in her native language, leaving me stand there for at least 5 minutes or more while she's conversing. It is clear the customer has already finished their transaction, they have their product in bags, and it's clear they are socializing. At no time does the clerk acknowledge me or say that she will be right with me. The last time I was there, I placed an order for walnut loaf, (since they are Always out) asked them to please hold, since they were making it later that afternoon. I showed up right at closing only to have her socialize with the current customer that had already finished her sale, then after 4 minutes, she looked at me and said I sold your loaf, you were not here. I have tried to give this place a fair evaluation, but each time, I have experienced VERY POOR customer service. There are plenty more courteous places that I will do my business with.

To clarify, I had a meeting to attend and in no way did I say I would pick up the loaf at 1 o'clock. I was told they would be ready after 1, to which I asked if they would please hold for me. Yes I was detained by the meeting, and made it there a.s.a.p. You do NOT make these everyday, and the next time was going to be Tues. As I said earlier, there are more places that appreciate the customer and would have at least held it till...

We went here twice. First time, when we passed by and my daughter wanted a treat. She picked up a candy and we stood up at the counter waiting for our turn. When it's our turn the lady at the counter started chitchating with a man in their language. She did not even look at us and did not attend to us AT ALL. We waited and did not bother them talking until the man she was talking to noticed my daughter and he was so nice and bought a candy for her. Another man (her husband i assumed) attended to us when he noticed my daughter was holding the candy.

Second time, we went and again waited for our turn in the counter and it was just a customer lady and then us on the line. After the customer lady is done, the lady in the counter said "whos next?? you, do u need anything??" looking at the other customers in the store who just arrived and was still looking for things to buy, they said "no we are stl looking.." I thought to myself did she not see us as customers?? We were literally behind the previous lady she attended to. She then attended to us. We've never felt so prejudiced before in this country and this is definitely something that proves European people are more racist than white. Not all but most.

Decided to never come back in this store. Worst customer service we've experienced. Btw...

The best products any where, from pastries, cakes, cold cuts, smoked sausage and meats. Rajka makes all her pastries, cookies and cakes and more, all home made. There is so much variety in the store, all high quality and always fresh. So much to choose from.And so friendly, always greets customer upon arrival.
