This gym is worthy of no star and i sincere feel sorry for innocent public who walk into this establishment seeking to live a healthy life. I don't normally write google reviews, i believe people make mistakes or they are having bad day and can sometimes act inappropriately. This is why it has taken me almost 2years, to come to the inevitable conclusion that i am left with no other choice but to fight back. But a deliberate act to defraud, mislead, lie, steal, to even threaten and bully gym members that they forbidden from attempting to close their gym membership. That is when it becomes a ridiculous and expensive joke. After after almost 2years of harrowing experience at the hands of the staff and management of this gym, i have decided to come out and warn unsuspecting gym goers to seek elsewhere for healthy living because World Gym is not that place. First of all, then Gym is dirty, cramped and stinks. But that is not all. They have a system of making sure that you can never cancel your gym membership with them even if you move city, country or die. These guys are very heartless in their pursuit of money. I joined the Gym in October 2023 and after a few weeks of regular attendance, i got too busy with work and could no longer attend the gym. But i continued to pay biweekly and did not mind that, as i was hoping to get back to my routine someday, as long as i still lived in the city of Niagara Falls. Fast forward to August 2024, i moved from Niagara Falls to Burlington. It is only sensible that i cancel the member at a gym that i will no longer be able to attend. So one fine Saturday afternoon, i went to the gym to declared that i had moved home with proof of this move. A young lady at the front desk told me that only the manager can authorize my cancellation and he does not work on weekends or evenings. Apparently, the manager only works 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, so for a busy family physician like myself, i must close my clinic on a weekday in order to meet the mighty manager of World gym and beg for their permission to cancel my gym membership. Of course i could not do this as i work 6days a week in a different city and live in an even farther city. After this experience, i continued to pay the gym membership from that August up until November of 2024. At this time, my bank started to charge me $45dollars every month for no sufficient funds in the account. I called the gym again and again, and they told me the same thing each time i.e. i must come during working hours or they wont cancel my membership and wont stop taking money from my account. Eventually, i had to close this bank account because the NSF fee was beginning to pinch. Then they started sending me threatening emails, threatening me with all sorts of retribution, threatening fire and brimstone and recently, threatening to report me to a collector. Since the beginning of 2025, my wife has called the gym so many times, the had even sent them the lease agreement for her new home to show that we no longer live in Niagara falls. Now they have sent me a list of outstanding fee that i must pay or else they pass me on to a collector. And at this point, i will be involving a lawyer for these guys and making everyone know that cares to listen, that World gym is not a gym, it is a scam, a trap and racket for luring the unsuspecting public into a perpetual membership payment that never ends. Read moreI am passionate about fitness, thus I feel the need to share this review I wrote and would not normally do this. However, I did not enjoy my experience at World Gym Niagara Falls today. At around 1:50pm on May 15, 2018, there was an employee who asked me to leave because as a guest, I have to be with a member at all times. Seeing as my dad literally had to leave on urgency, then come back within 5 minutes was inconvenient. I understand this is a policy, however you have to give someone consideration if they give you a valid reason. As this incident was happening, there were other guys who were getting in no problem without being scanned, and essentially doing the same thing. I’m just wondering why nothing was being done to stop them and how lenient these employees were being towards others walking through in front of my own eyes. I felt that this was all done in an unprofessional manner from start to finish. My family members are all within the VIP memberships, thus I proceed to go in as a guest majority of the time without any issues. As we were talking this matter out with the manager (Breanna), they both showed no interest in apologizing or trying to understand our situation. At the same time, the employee (Char) was telling her friends about it in the corner, while I was still in her presence. If the employee suggested maybe having a day pass option or kindly telling me other option, rather than following me into the change room and kicking me out, then I would have potentially considered and wouldn’t be angered on how this approach went. I did not appreciate being followed into the change room, not having told anything as a warning, and having to be kicked out of the facility extremely disappointed. This could have all been discussed at the front desk with my father present, not after the fact that he left, needed to be phone called to return and the employee having to come into the change room just to kick me out. As a result, I unfortunately had to cancel my family’s memberships as we were not pleased with the service of the employees. Read moreI have never walked into a gym where instead of greeting you, staff will instead look down at their phones to avoid eye contact (newer chick with long dark hair on weeknights). There are some kind ones- the manager is lovely, the weekend morning guys are awesome, the guy with the glasses and long hair is a sweetheart….but aside from that they’re pretty much AWFUL. No one is expecting a red carpet, but to work in customer service you should have the most basic customer service skills. I never see staff on the floor DOING anything (less the few folks mentioned above). The gym is filthy, there’s never any towels or spray to clean equipment, and it’s super off putting to see them constantly on their phones ignoring anyone who isn’t their friend. In all fairness, many of the patrons are filthy. I constantly see people not cleaning equipment after use, putting things back, etc which is gross, but compounded with lazy and rude staff it makes for a dumpster of a facility.
