Olde World Fudge Co Ltd — Local services in North Vancouver

I tried to buy some chocolates from this place on last Friday in the late afternoon; however to my surprise the attendant, supposedly the owner, a middle-aged / senior gray haired man wasn't wearing a mask nor gloves. I saw him grabbing some chocolate for other clients, and then grabbing the money without any hygiene or care.

Then, I questioned him about the lack of mask since it's mandatory, and a common sense basic public health measure, and to my surprise, he said in a very rude way that he had a medical exemption, and pointed at a document that was on the glass, which of course I hadn’t noticed before. I simply said "ok, I'm sorry, but I don't want to have a medical condition (Covid)". After I said the phrase in quotation marks, and started to leave the place, he started to yell at me in front of other people, and say "stop man, blabla"......really??

Is it the way that you treat clients? Is it the way that you treat someone who is following the rules, and was trying to be protected, and doesn't want to be sick because of irresponsible and careless people? If he had a medical condition, he could simply say something "I'm sorry, I have medical condition, here is the document, etc....but no, he harassed and yelled at me in front of many people.

Also, he could wear a face shield, which of course doesn’t prevent the spread of the disease scientifically speaking, and also he could wear gloves, since these simple actions would show a minimal respect for the clients and some hygiene. The truth is, he doesn’t care at all! Disgusting place with a very rude and crazy man! Won't go to this place anymore, and will tell my family and friends. Very...

We stopped here after a day of hiking and everything looked amazing! Everything that we tried was excellent! Our experience with the items we purchased was great! I tried the Milk & Dark Chocolate Salted Caramels, One of the Red Jellies (I think they were called George's Jellies), and a slice of the Opera Roll (Caramel, Pecans, nougat). The Jelly I had was really full of flavor. I loved it. They were soft and squishy. The Opera Roll was so good! I wish I would have bought one for myself but I bought it for my husband who shared a bite with me. :) Everything we tried was great quality candy making! It is more expensive because of the quality. I ordered two pieces of fudge at the counter, chocolate and dark chocolate. The server, a beautiful young lady, meticulously wrapped each piece in parchment and sealed them with a gold logo sticker. She said I could have my choice of another piece, so I asked for vanilla. She put all 3 individually wrapped pieces into this luxurious brown paper shopping bag with a carry handle and placed a gold sticker on the side of it, I felt like a millionaire. I think I devoured all three pieces within two days, absolutely wonderful, each piece was so flavorful and delicious, I think I preferred the dark chocolate, but believe me they were all beyond just good.
