I have shopped at this Home Depot on a regular basis since they opened. Today I went to the store to speak to the manager He told his service desk he was too busy to speak to me ( he was doing an interview) I suggested I could wait however he sent an assistant to speak to me. My issue began June 5 2018. Due to a wind storm the fence between my home and my neighbors had blown down. I went to Home Depot to see what options they had to temporarily mend the broken posts. It was early in the am I was with my 12 year old daughter. We were spending time together before she was to be dropped off at school. She decided to wait in the car ( yes it was left running with air Conditioning on ) I into the Home Depot stopped at the service desk to ask where the post menders were. He told me the aisle #. I found the item and got two took them to the cashier paid for them. Then I walked towards the exit saw the same man who told me where they were Held them up asked him if these where what he was talking about. He replied yes I said I would try them and if they worked would be back for more. I walked out to my car and daughter. Just as I was putting them in my Porsche’s trunk the man I spoke to came out of the store and asked me if I paid for them. I said yes. THIS IS WHERE THE ISSUE STARTED he replied to my yes of course I paid with SHE SAID YOU DID NOT PAY FOR THEM. I replied she is wrong. Ps my special needs daughter was very upset by this persons actions. If he had came out of the store and said hi can I see your receipt I would have said sure instead he accused me of stealing them. I said here is my receipt and he looked at it and said I am just doing my job. No apology and Walked in the store I tried to explain to my daughter what happened and said I would call the store to tell the manager what happened. I called left my name number and briefly describes what happened They said a manager would call me when they got in A nice person did call me back after hearing my story she apologized and said come back for a refund and she would look after me I explained I was heading to USA and would come in when I returned. A few weeks later I did just that went back took the two items back with my receipt for a refund. Again I asked for the store manager to speak to me. Again only an assistant was availability again he apologized and said he would talk to the person. I spoke to and he would get back to me in a week. This was June 22 Needless to say no one contacted me and today I wanted to give the store manager one more chance to deal with me . Today is July 14th. Again I spoke to an assistant dept manager left her my business card and it’s now hours later and again I one has called me. Finally the assistant store manager called back again same response she agreed they were wrong She wanted to give me a discount on my next project I So this is why this Home Depot management team gets a 1...
Read moreStore outlet lineups are not way too many but not bad either. If you need somethig quickly locally, a few brand names are available and are sufficient. Home Dept and Longos stores are in the same plaza so kind of busy always. Movie theatre and 4 large stand alone restaurants right beside adds up value, not to mention the Chops restaurant located at the Sandman Hotel. Dollarama and Marks Wear is there too. Area is presentable, clean, outlet pricing, all kind of stores there and easy parking is best features. There is a bank too, which has drive in ATM. Couple of franchised food places and Bulk Barn is there. I wish if there was a coffee shop like Tims or Starbucks there, would have earned 5 star but there is Starbucks inside the Longos but then you have go all the way inside. Overall a nice place to shop and right beside QEW ramps so...
Read moreThe place is in transition. The foot traffic just isn't high enough to sustain some of the businesses. Christmas shopping will be tougher this year with go-to spots like Bowring's, The Bombay Co. and Additionelle gone. Instead Sketchers, and soon an Old Navy will be there. La Vie En Rose was dead quiet tonight. Yes, it targets a different demo, and likely thrives at Christmas and Valentine's, but there isn't much else to draw the younger set to their spot right now. Longo's, Home Depot and the Dollarama continue to remain steady. Kitchen Stuff Plus is a bonus all around. A lot of my gifts will probably be sourced there because the selection and quality are high, and the prices competitive. I hope the Rio management team find a way to keep the brick and morter business alive. On-line is uber convenient, but I like to see and touch too...
