I have literally been here for 1.5 hours and my list of complaints is getting bigger and bigger. As someone who travels frequently with kids, do not come here. I would not recommend no matter how convenient it is that there is a restaurant attached. I arrived to wait quite a while to check in, then I check in to a room that has a hardcore smell of pool water or chlorine. I was told that a crib or play pen may not be available at literally the last minute and seeing how it was already bed time for my kids, this was really terrible to hear as I mentioned in my booking months ago that I would need one. It took over 30 mins of hounding the front desk for one, after Saying to them that I don’t think they realize how a 10 month old cannot sleep in a regular bed, it’s unsafe and he could seriously injure himself and/or suffocate. then when the man finally brought up the bed after several attempts of asking for it, I had to set it up myself which was more difficult than I thought with young children just barely staying in one place. Knowing my reservation, and the hotel was well aware that I am coming to stay at the hotel, they could of at least set up the playpen for me in advance to make my stay easier. Also I would invest in cribs they are way easier to set up and sturdier. As I lay here on this terrible mattress and soft pillows which is another point I would to make, please invest in decent mattresses, offer soft and firm pillow options, and maybe some sound proofing. I can hear everything from the highways to people in the hallways even with my sound machine on! Another thing that was super inconvenient was that the vending machine wasn’t full, had no water in my floor, had to cart two kids downstairs just to get water, there is also no signage of where the vending machines would be, I had to wait around 10 mins just to ask! I am so utterly disappointed in my stay here, I had heard so many good things about the Sandman Hotels, but I will seriously never...
Read moreBottom line; Great customer service through and through. 2 trolleys in the lobby. Clean spacious rooms, with very comfy beds. Room was equipped with a mini fridge, microwave, a small safe, and a TV with a great variety of channels (but the TV channel guide was placed on the desk underneath the glass top which was glued to the desk… being located so far from the bed it was quite inconvenient but nbd!) Beautiful bathroom with a large rain shower head and a nice deep bathtub, (which was very slow to fill, the drain didn’t work properly - causing me to refill my bath a few times)
So my mother and I stayed for 2 nights. We were only told when we arrived at the front desk that we could not pay for the deposit with cash or debit. Only credit cards are accepted for the deposit. We were asked to switch rooms for the second night, but they gave us a room with 2 beds at no extra charge. My mother had to leave for her flight at 11 (which is the checkout time). We slept in the day of checkout. My mother had to leave the hotel at 11 sharp to catch her flight so I helped her pack and load her things into the Taxi. It was around 11:45am when I finally got back to the room to begin packing my things. I was absolutely expecting a phone call from the front desk, or housekeeping knocking on the door telling me that I needed leave or extended my stay… But there was no call or knock, they were actually super nice about my late checkout and even told me to take my time! I’ve been to many hotels, and The Sandman was the first to not bother me for checking out late 👌
Yes, there were a couple very minor issues, like the room temp changer was different in the second room and very hard to find, but nothing that would prevent me from staying here again or recommending this place to others. It was great!
Overall, the price was great for such a nice stay at this beautiful hotel, especially with lots of shops close by. And hey, you can’t beat having a Denny’s in the hotel...
Read moreWe stayed at Sandman Hotel in Oakville for about six weeks, and I can honestly say it was one of the best things that could have happened to us as newcomers to Canada. From the very first day, we felt not just welcomed, but truly at home. The entire team showed kindness, respect, and genuine care that made a huge difference during our transition. The hotel itself is spotless, with excellent amenities. The gym was always in great condition, and the pool quickly became one of our favorite spots to spend time together as a family. One small challenge we faced was laundry, but the staff immediately stepped in with thoughtful suggestions and guidance, which we truly appreciated. More importantly, the management team went above and beyond. The General Manager, Neil Arora, showed great understanding of our situation as newcomers and generously offered us a rate that made our extended stay much more manageable financially. This thoughtful support made a real difference. I also want to highlight Thomas Cramer, the Event Manager, who kindly helped me access a meeting room when I needed to work from the hotel. This allowed me to stay close to my family while also meeting my work commitments, something that meant a lot during this time. The lobby became more than just a lobby for us, it turned into a little “playground” for our son, which gave my wife some much-needed relief during long days. I can’t thank the staff enough for welcoming him with such warmth and patience. Special thanks to Garima, Helen, James, Ana, Alicia, Salim, and Anand and to all the wonderful people whose names I might have missed. Your kindness will not be forgotten. For anyone looking for a place that offers not just comfort and cleanliness, but also genuine human connection and care, I wholeheartedly recommend Sandman Hotel Oakville. They don’t just offer rooms; they create a true sense of home. G'd...
