Extremely disappointing. I am sorry to say I will never go back to Milestones, Burloak, Oakville location. Absolutely never! Let me first say, I have frequented this particular location regularly since they opened on Burloak, and my best friend lived near there. The food has always been ok, but there was a time the service at this particular location was stellar. I remember many excellent servers over the years there such as Richard, Jane, etc, who used to provide outstanding customer service. Clearly, that is in the past. After dealing with the petty and immature attitude of the manager, Adrian, over a piece of cake served with one fifth of the frosting missing, I am very taken aback. Last night, Adrian defiantly insisted I would be paying for what I ate which was two bites from the narrow side of the slice. I did not feel the cake looked right but I did taste it. I was unsure if this was the design of the cake. I came to realize after speaking to server it was in fact missing the some of the frosting, and asked them to remove it off the bill. I did not feel they should serve a customer a cake slice this way. Adrian came to our table, very defensive from the get go, insisting that I will be paying for what I ate, because that part was good. Even as I type this, I cannot believe how absurd his insistence was. He made sure that I was charged $9, and the dessert was $10.50. While he argued with me, the server offered to pay from her pocket for the dessert, but Adrian did not back down. I was shocked that he was the manager, because he lacked finesse, maturity and customer service skills. It was very obvious neither the server nor manager cared at all for our business. My best friend and I left there feeling sick to our stomachs about the petty and argumentitive attitude. Looking forward to hearing from Milestones about this, and would like to speak to someone at Milestones about this troubling incident.
Adding to my earlier review, after three months, corporate had NEVER followed up, other than saying someone...
Read moreDropped off the kids at the movies, and decided to kill some time at Milestones on Wyecroft in Oakville, which is really on the border of Burlington. This is a great location with a clean refreshed look and feel with a large outdoor covered patio for the summer, comfortable seating abounds except for my dinner this time!
I had the tight table by the entrance and steps down, in a busy alley way, I was constantly getting blasted in the eyes by car headlights as they pulled up.... that’s why I deducted a star! This table should not exist and it totally feels like I’m sitting away from the main area, all I get to see is a wall and headlights! Pictures attached will show you the spot...
The service was just ok, she was pleasant enough but I felt a bit forgotten in my corner and waited a long time for my food and lemons for my water. As for food.... I had the beef meatloaf with mashed potatoes and asparagus, my guest the tuna bowl, the meatloaf was ok, just ok, would I get it again....no The tuna bowl was bland, and was just ok... As for dessert, the cheesecake is excellent!
I have been here a few times and a lot of the food choices are good, but my evening here was a bit of a disappointment.
Would I come here again.... yes
Would I recommend this location.... yes... Just make sure you get a good set in the dining room or stick to the patio.
** Update I did hear from the manager at this location, Mark, he was very apologetic, and stepped up by inviting me back for a re-do! So far this location and company are customer focused.......
Read moreWhen you go out for a meal, you are not just going out for food but for the experience as well.
This location has underwent a new decor revitalization. They have gone with a dark colour palet of blacks and dark brown. A modern industrial minimalist look. Very open. The seats are comfortable but the place can get loud.
The menu is geared more towards the hippy exotic. They do cover the range but for example if tou want a potato with your meal they don't offer anything plane. You can get garlic mashed but not a baked. All the pasta is eldente iver if you ask for ultra soft.
I had a Mediterranean chicken rhat was quite good but no extras. Worked out ok for my Palio diet needs.
So why the 1 star rating. In big bold letters. BAD SERVICE! The meal took twice as kong to arrive as it should. You try to get attention of the service staff and short of jumpibg up and down with sparklers you get ignored. Even asking where your food is dies little rhan get its coming. And when it shoes up you get the lame sorry but we were busy. Hang on a sec. Rhe place was 1/2 empty. No lines up getiing in. We didn't dither and take forever to choose our order and it wasnt complex or a large order. (Family of 4).
In this day and economy, resteraunts especially those charging a premium need to learn that you cant give bad service and expect to get away with it. It doesnt matter if your decor looks pretty. Unless you deliver the whole package then you are going to loose out. I sure am not going back nor tell anyone else to...
