Two weeks ago during stroll I noticed where Romania Country Bread used to be and the oven is being used to cook wood-fired pizza now in the heart of Steveston Village. The aroma of wood-fired pizza fills the air, hot from the oven with a crispy charred crust that’s simply irresistible. Their pizzas by the slice or whole are made using a lot of smoked flavours, for example, smoked bacon, smoked chicken and smoked salmon. I was advised the pizza dough is made using double-zero Caputo flour from Italy. Vibe and the atmosphere still rustic, but cute for dine in option (limited seating), but we opted for take out as snack. I really appreciate when I said extra toasted staff put it back in the oven and did just that. Beef Jalapeno with tomato sauce, seasoned beef, jalapeno, roasted red pepper, red onion, fior di latte, grana padano had just the right amount of heat with a few extra drops of hot sauce. I also enjoyed their Diavola with soppressata (spicy italian salami) for alternative to pepperoni. Thin crust, fresh ingredients, and amazing flavors. Open 7 days a week from 11 a.m.–8 p.m

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Moncton Pizzeria and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by the warm aroma of wood-fired pizza, which only heightened my anticipation. I ordered a bunch of different flavours (as per attached picture) cooked to perfection in their wood oven. The first bite was a revelation. The crust was crispy yet chewy, with just the right amount of char from the oven. The sauce was rich and flavorful, and the toppings were fresh and generously portioned. What truly sets Moncton Pizzeria apart is their commitment to quality. Each ingredient tasted fresh and carefully selected. The service was also impeccable, with the staff going above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. Moncton Pizzeria is a must-visit for any pizza lover if you are visiting Steveston! The combination of their wood-fired oven and high-quality ingredients results in a truly exceptional pizza that is a cut above the rest. I cannot wait to return for another delicious meal.

The regular pizza is very good and 5 star and I recommend it but the reason I gave the food only a 3 star is because we ordered a gluten free version as my wife is allergic to wheat. Do not order gluten free from them. It is a 1 star on the food scale. We had the bbq chicken. We felt it was very extremely overpriced and the toppings was very meager. Barely anything on it. They only offer a 12 inch size for gluten free but charge the 14 inch price and add $5 to the price. which came out to $33. The crust did not taste homemade but rather like a store bought frozen crust. I don't know if they make their own gluten free crusts. This is one of the worst gluten free crusts we have had especially for the price. They do cook it in the wood fire oven with other pizzas so if you are celiac (which my wife is not) this could be a problem. When I was there on a previous time I noticed that the brand of flour they use for their regular pizza is a very good brand (Caputo) from Italy. That same company makes an outstanding gluten free flour which my wife has made. Best crust ever. Our suggestion if they want to continue to make gluten free pizza is to make their own crust using this flour, add more toppings and lower the price to make it comparable price to their regular pizzas. It is nice to have the gluten free option at a pizza place but we will not be ordering gluten free again from here in the future unless they change. There are other pizza places in Richmond that offer gluten free that are far...

The pizza itself is good. The service that I witnessed made me VERY uncomfortable. The woman in front of us had ordered 3 18” pizzas, and for whatever reason, the staff decided to give her 6 pizzas as a Canada Day Special. The proceeded to fight with this woman (calling her ‘lady’, asking her why she’s mad about more pizza, telling her to ‘just give it to neighbours is that so hard?’) until she gave up and just said she’d take them. The staff then forced her to let them carry it out. She was clearly very upset and uncomfortable, and did not like how any of the staff were speaking to her. I did not either and would not recommend this place at all for that reason. Also, charging 5 bucks extra for half and half is a little funny.

EDIT: The owners reply really shows some immaturity. Such a shame for a great restaurant to have such a douchey owner. Owning up to mistakes is a much better look than lying and being sassy toward customers who were made uncomfortable by an interaction they witnessed in the store.

The owners response is laughable especially now that he’s edited it to make himself look better. The customer was upset, and we were there when she drove off. She did not come back in and she was clearly displeased. Your staff made fun of her the second she had her back turned. Horrible excuse for a...

I have been here a few times since it changed from the bakery. The pizza oven is amazing and the pizzas are delicious. But this time, we encountered a very rude server behind the display. I have asked what each pizzas were (which I have done every time I have been there) as they always have 10+ choices. Today, there were nearly twenty choices and the young lady has rattled off the names of them, all within 30 seconds. I have always been served by the owner (I think) and he is very happy to explain what each pizza slices have. As there are no sign explaining what is inside, I would think that it is normal for your customers to want to know what’s inside each pizza!? To top it up off, she didn’t ask if we are eating in or taking it out (I always get it to go and the owner puts the pizzas in the box for me). Then she rudely said “move over there!” And banged on the pizza tray with the spatula!!! When the pizzas came out, she placed them in a thin paper plate and told me to “Be careful. They are hot”. Thanks. I guess I will have to peek in and see who is serving before I go in next time. I’m very disappointed. By the way, we were the family that ordered 9...
