As a Local Guide Level 6, I would like to give a 1 star. Me and my friend yesterday went over there, when I get in, I felt my leg was so pain and tired, I ask the one of the server can I had a good seat and more comfortable table for me to dine, then I pointed to the reserved table over there because they had the most comfortable seat they had, then the server talk to the manager and they refused to gave me the table that I wanted and of course my friend said it why cannot do it, and defintely I felt my leg was so pain and tired then they should this, and you guy are refused, then no choice of it we get the most uncomfortable and awkward seat we had, Then the next moment, two girl came in and then they got it, and I was so pissed that the whole progress was dead air no word coming out from my mouth and I don't understand whether the girls had booked by telephone or just get in and then they got the seat, it is unfair for us and also not so professional things to do. If someone tried to got the table and got refused, people will got mad and so do I, and so green tea and hot stuff charge money, and it charge 4 dollars, this is not worth it. We tried to get the hot stuff to drink and turn up a ordinary cold water. At last, food were not perfect, ramen was too hard to shallow and 2 Shio was not enough for me and I felt it so hungry at that time too, soup was so salty that I can't drink all of it. Overall, I never gave tips at last not so many I gave and no words from you guy, the next time I will not coming back to this location, would go back to the Alexandra Road one, they are really good and gave us a hot tea no charge and ramens over there No 1. My advice, don't put the reserved sign on the table, unless they are really call and for us if we took the table let us took it unless the other customer complained about it, otherwise even you are good or not they won't come back anytime and also when I finished my dinner, the other table that was empty still no customer came in and took it, this is ridiculos and I'm really angry about it, this is unpossfessional way to treat customer. You guy should think about it. Frist no charge for the green tea or hot tea and if the table for the seat customer don't come in to ask or seat, let us took it unless customer wanted it or not, just don't banned someone with disability and told us this is reserved, this is not good and by the way, this time I felt so hurt and angry nowaday Vancouver treat us not just us but for all. This also will go through to all websites and review and I will report this situation to BBB ( Best Business Breau) Supervisor as I also work with them as a secret customer to check foods...
Read moreI was so happy to see G-Men open in Steveston! I live close to the area so it's really nice to have more ramen options closer to my neighbourhood. Prior to that, I always had to drive out to either central Richmond or downtown to get my ramen fix.
This is their second location and it's much more spacious than the one they have at Alexandra. There's plenty of room and the restaurant can even accommodate big groups of 8-10. The menu selection is the same as the other location.
One of my favourite things about the G-Men ramen joints is that unlike most other ramen shops, their menu isn't limited to just ramen and gyoza. G-Men offers plenty of other Japanese treats like sashimi, donburis, and more!
I really enjoyed my first visit at this new G-Men. Although the food was amazing, I couldn't give 5 stars for this rating just because of the service. Don't get me wrong, the staff are extremely attentive and friendly. However, I feel that they are unstaffed, resulting in long wait times for both seating and food. Even though there were lots of tables available, their staff didn't have enough time to clear the tables to seat guests. There were around 16 people waiting for seats when we arrived and it took us over 45 minutes to get seats for a table of two.
Hopefully this will only be temporary. I wish that that they will able to recruit and form a solid team in the near future to keep up with the high demand.

Read moreThis was the first place we dined in Steveston during our last visit, as a piping hot bowl of ramen sounded like the perfect counter to the dreary, drizzly weather that greeted us upon arrival.
We were alone in the restaurant, and as such commanded all the attention of the servers, who were all very young, and very green. Still, they were welcoming and attentive, if a little skittish.
Absolutely massive menu, but somehow missing some noodle shop staples. For example, there was no "spicy miso" ramen option available, despite seeing it in pictures from older reviews. My wife ended up ordering the regular miso, and requesting they try and spice up the broth a bit, which culminated in a side of chili flakes and oil accompanying it. The rest of the meal would entail her jealously eyeing my sufficiently spicy bowl of RCMP, which hit the spot nicely.
The side order of okonomiyaki was sadly disappointing, being some sort of microwaved version of the dish, wholly lacking the appropriate textures and flavors; avoid this one, folks.
Overall, the ramen is good, not great, and priced to take advantage of the many tourists that come to visit the Steveston waterfront. It'll do the trick in a pinch, but there are better Japanese dining options all...
