Pros: large selection of various kitchen ware you couldn’t find at any other store. Lots of food items for baking and cooking.
Cons: extremely over priced for the kitchen ware, and not justified.
I’m aware of the ownership change. Barb the original owner was a wonderful lady, she was extremely helpful and knowledgeable but not there to just make money, you could see it in her treatment to customers she valued long time customer loyalty and wanted to help them make their kitchen a better place. It’s where my mother learned to make bread!
There’s a difference between being higher priced and clear robbery. A bit more expensive by a few dollars okay sure, but a 60% markup?! Come on! The prices on kitchen ware is excessive. Lots of it can be bought elsewhere for half the price. Like a waffle maker and electric kettle. Like a previous review stated, the vibe is off. The staff weren’t warm to us upon entry, and were too busy talking amongst themselves. They weren’t interested in any conversation or warmness. Barb has helped accommodate strange requests (like when seven of us pooled money to buy a kitchen machine for my aunt from across the country), and has taught me dozens of little tricks to make my cooking easier, healthier and faster, and tastier. She and her staff are always great. She stands behind her products with pride.
A lot of businesses could take lessons from Barb and...
Read moreOddly enough I came in this store almost by accident and I'm glad I did. They are the last of a dying breed of niche cooking/baking supply stores that isn't a "big box" store. the customer service is above and beyond and you'll likely see barbs smiling face in the store. They carry everything from Wilton to Le Creuset, which speaks to the different levels of price point that you can find there. Excellent selection of rare knives as well, Silpat mats and Fat Daddios products. They've got a section of the store that is primarily made up of baking ingredients where you'll find almost any extract, every type of flour, valrohna chocolate and vanilla bean pods. If your recipe calls for an odd ingredient, barb...
