I needed a place to go in our emergency, and there was more of a hassle with the hotel than fixing the broken water pipe at my place. I stayed from the 17th to the morning of the 22nd of April here. I killed two beetles in my room on the same day. Our room service didn't happen when asked. When I did finally get a new change of bedding, the blanket was stained with purple. I have purple hair, so I informed the front desk, so I wasn't charged for it. Room service came the next morning and didn't give my other room (I had two) any soap to wash their hands. Thankfully, I brought soap from home. My room had very little toilet paper and no replacement, so I brought my own from home when room service didn't come. We were not there during the day. We were at home dealing with our broken pipe at the back of our property. The door handles are hard to open, and I bruised the palm of my hand, trying to open the door of where my kids and mother in law were at. Getting out of my room was hard when it came to the door handle, which is a safety concern. My kid went to grab something from under the bed, and she came out full of dust and dirt as if the floors under the bed never get cleaned. There was a group of guys being extremely loud outside of my other room, and they left a huge mess which no one cleaned, not even by the next day. I am very disappointed in the selection of food. Dairy and Wheat products are a very common allergy (gluten), and there was no alternative. They tried to charge me for my dog more than once for the same day and more than the $10/day along with the day she wasnt there (I told staff she wouldnt be there that last day). The photos of the shampoo, conditioner, and soap are not what you get in your room. You get a tiny dove soap bar and a single 2in1. The rooms are a lot more run down than the photos show, and there was no gold runner on my bed. I'm very disappointed. The one good thing was the wonderful lady who checked us in. That's it. I'll never return or recommend this place. Any other location of the Travelodge has been amazing. I'm not sure what's going on with this location.

We booked a few months in advance as we were traveling with a pet and baby and when we arrived they had double booked our 2 bed pet friendly room. We were offered the single bed pet friendly room, however I declined and we were put into a regular room with 2 beds. Upon entering the room a foul odour was emitting and the room was humid for some reason. The room was dirty. The bedding, the drapes, even the lamp shade was filthy. We decided to request a different room after we saw a mystery stain on the carpet and what appeared to be blood in another location. The front counter staff was not very helpful and would not take any accountability for the room being gross, but she did let me see the next room. I went to check it out (now the single pet friendly room) and it was much cleaner and up to our standard. My wife went to adjust the thermostat and the register emitted a large spark and smoke, not once, but twice. We decided that the hotel was unsafe for our family and requested our money back. The hotel main floor was full of unsavoury clientele and we did not feel safe there. I suggest you read the reviews before you book here and remember cheap hotels are cheap for a reason. Cough up the extra money and stay somewhere nicer.

It's an okay place to stay. The low price made up for most deficiencies. The location is great if you have a car or don't mind paying for taxis. If you want to use transit, choose a different location. Plenty of shopping and restaurants along Calgary Trail & Gateway on this side of the city, including a nearby Denny's and Walmart. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and decently maintained. The bed was comfortable, although an extra pillow would help. There was a TV, small washroom, air conditioning, desk, chair, armchair, and a mini fridge. Breakfast was included: A brown bag meal usually with a 200 mL juice box, a 400 kcal muffin, a small yogurt with a spoon, and a piece of fruit (an apple or a banana). Perfectly adequate and works well when you're on the run. While I stayed the pool facilities were never open. Parking was free and ample, although there were several signs cautioning customers that theft and break-ins were a problem and to act accordingly.

Our stay turned out to be a nightmare! The staff seemed so pleasant and the room was clean....however....there was a deer tick in my bed!!! We are not sure if there were more at this point. I see my family physician tomorrow, now that I am home. I have 2 spots on my leg that something has burrowed into and my husband was able to take a picture and enlarge it for the hotel manager, as well as for our doctor and we even brought the bug home to show our doctor tomorrow. My leg is swollen and whatever is burrowed needs to come out. We even gave this hotel the courtesy of speaking privately so there wasnt a scene made. We were beyond polite and respectful. No apologies were given! They moved us to a different room but we just could not rest after that. It should be noted for legal purposes that we still paid full price for our room for 2 nights. We never received any compensation of any sort for this. My review is soley based on our stay and what happened. The breakfast that this hotel offers is fantastic. It is clean and it is basic but it is nice. The rooms are very nice. The hotel is very dated but the rates are super affordable! Unfortunately....I believe you get what you pay for and we saved a little money staying here, but if I get Lyme disease....the money saved is in no way worth it! In response to the GM's response..my husband and I were not apologized to, we were told this was strange and rare and maybe WE brought this in with us! Also...when we returned to the hotel, after buying our brand new car, the girl at the front desk said we could either stay in our original room or move to an available room up the hall. We have pictures of the bug, the bed and I am now on a course of treatment for Lyme disease. It is NOT typical for someone to carry a few ticks with them for 11 hours to a hotel either. Ticks dont typically reside in someone's car either. Fact...there was a tick in your hotel and in my bed. Fact....you wanted us out so you could go through our room. You said you were moving us with our permission and we gave our permission. However...you never moved us. You only searched our room. We moved all of our stuff upon returning, by ourselves. We never asked for a thing or were angry with your hotel. However, I stand by that someone might want to be extremely cautious when booking a hotel room anywhere. Weight out saving a few bucks to...

TERRIBLY disappointed in this hotel. Upon arrival, the two front desk attendants had to finish whatever they were looking at on her phone before they could help us. After we checked in and wandered down the VERY drafty hallways, we arrived in the dated room. The walls were an awful color and we discovered the bathtub drain didn't actually close unless you held it down with your toe. The room was clean enough although it smelled HEAVILY of old smoke even though we had requested a non-smoking room.

The breakfast was ridiculously crowded as in a hotel with what I am guessing has over 200 guest rooms, was in a room with about 4/5 tables and NO room to line up to get the food that was constantly running out. (There was another room next door that you can go to once you've waited in a line for over half an hour but there were also only about 4 tables in there too) When another guest was telling the front desk clerks about it as we were checking out (the next day, we decided to have breakfast at another location where we would yes, have to pay for it, but could also actually enjoy a meal) they proceeded to argue with her that the attendant was there. She said, well I haven't seen her and there is no food. They STILL argued with her, keep in mind - this is in the lobby of the hotel. It ended in shouting

The pool was okay, minus it not having a shower and it was out of towels when we went. Once we went and told the front desk that they were out (politely, I might add) they said "YES!! We will get some in a minute!!"

Overall I would never recommend this hotel to anybody and have and will be telling all of our family and acquaintances to avoid it due to the poor experience we had on our anniversary weekend.

I would love a call or email from...
