The St. Catharine's farmer's market is a great place to visit and discover local vendors. There are shops selling produce, baked goods, food ready-to-eat, an assortment of cheese, and other items.
We purchased food from Niagara Samosa Factory as well as Tamales Mexico. We then stopped at Limited Distilling and purchased a bottle of Peach Moonshine. There were other vendors we wanted to purchase from, but they only accepted cash and we did not bring any due to Covid-19.
The Covid-19 protocols are well established, from the moment you enter. There is typically a line outside before entering and upon entry you are asked to use one of the sanitation stations. The local farmers participating are very friendly, and the produce are so much better knowing it was pretty much grown in your backyard so to speak. They also have an amazing Mexican food vendor, Eh José and the food is pretty authentic and delicious. We also love the vendor that sells fresh perogies. There is also a lady that sells the best samosas in the city. This is one good and enjoyable way to support...
Read moreNice day for a drive and St Catharines Farmers' Market became the destination having never been there before. A permanent structure makes it comfortable and convenient for visitors and vendors alike. Lots of fresh produce, breads, meats and gift ideas available. Free on-street parking on Saturdays makes it a perfect attraction. We purchased some seasonal peach tarts, iced matcha drinks and some freshly made Challah bread. Prices are comparable with higher end grocers but it's locally produced and fresh. Many visitors were present and the market has more than enough vendors that it has outgrown its current building. Saturdays 7am - 2 pm &...
