Convenient but incredibly high prices for products and you have to be very careful selecting their produce as it is consistently peeled back/trimmed of spoiled/rotten leaves etc. and generally in poor condition. Rotting items are taken out of weighed containers and the remainder is sold at full price, their bagged potatoes are usually sprouting or green, green onions peeled back multiple layers, and so on. Another recent example was a 1/2 full pint of grape tomatoes for the same price as a full container ($4.99). During the same visit, trying to buy iceberg at a $5 price point and all the lettuce in the case was rusted with black bottoms. In both cases I made sure to take photos in case the business wanted to dispute this. Good in a pinch when you need to grab something immediately, but for a proper shop you are better served taking the time to travel to another grocery store. Update: This was $18.99 to give you an idea of the markups. Serves me right for shopping last minute.

Straight up disgusting food storage and improperly handled items, calling the city’s health department as soon as their offices open up tomorrow. Perished items were: pita with black mold and a $20 container of quinoa cranberry salad that tasted like paint thinner. Since expiration dates were all fine I’m assuming they are using expired ingredients or just leaving things out instead of refrigerating them. As a fancy and overpriced grocery store, I’m shocked by this. Never happens at Sobeys or No Frills! Here’s a pic of the pita for reference

So sad. I asked for a beef tenderloin for a Wellington and they gave me the end cut. I didn't think I needed to specify centre-cut when I said it was for a Wellington. This ugly roast is not going to wrap properly and it's going to mess up my Christmas dinner. Not what I expected from Bruno's. In the end I had to cut off a good chunk of my meat to make it wrapable as a Wellington. And when I talked with the manager, he told me I was wrong. This was the most tender cut and he knew better than me. Not good customer service.

The prices are out of control. $15-16 salads lol. I just got two ‘feta’ and spinach spanakopita from Bruno’s for $8 - there was zero feta in them and the spinach tasted a little mushy. I didn’t finish them. I got two feta and spinach twisters from Foodland yesterday for $6 - they are twice the size and full of feta and fresh tasting spinach.

Some frozen empanadas I bought there last year for about $10 are over $20 now. Bought ice cream bars for $10, the next time I went there a month later, they were $13. It’s just obnoxious, honestly.

I just feel like this is taking advantage of ‘inflation’ to gauge customers and create bigger inflation. Instead of having fair prices and being a grocery store the neighbourhood can trust and rely on they mark things up as high as they can get away with.

I’ve also seen moldy cheeses and other not so fresh items being left on the shelves which is just disrespectful. I didn’t have the best experience the one time I bought meat there so I wouldn’t do that again.

They do have a fun ice cream and drink...
