i’ve been to Sprouts several times over the past two years and it’s gotten increasingly too crowded and super overwhelming for my toddler but this mornings experience takes the cake. i paid almost 35 dollars for a class that my daughter wasn’t into, which is fine, she’s a toddler what do you expect, but i come from the west end and as i said, it isn’t cheap so i thought that reasonably my daughter could play in the gym area before class for a little while so we got there early only to be pretty curtly told we couldn’t use the gym so we had to sit and wait in the snack area for class to start…for 30 minutes!! i was pretty put off by this and also the delivery but accepted it although my daughter was confused as to why she couldn’t play. i, quite frankly was too. i have seen other kids before and after ballet class using the play area. maybe i shouldn’t have asked. then the class started 30 mins later. my friends son went in no problem but the teacher told her she couldn’t go in and just to leave him and there was no way that was happening for my daughter so i went in with her and tried to get her to join the class and have fun, but she’s shy and after a few hiccups wanted to go home. no problem, she’s only 2.5 so i took her out of there and decided id ask again since we came all that way if she could play for a little bit before we left. this time the same woman rudely told me if i had asked earlier (which i had) and hasn’t done “most of the class” she’d have let us but nope sorry no can do. what a turn off and cash grab. she didn’t care if my daughter had fun or if the class was a bad experience clearly. also why can’t the kids play there for a few minutes before or after the classes they charge so much for which turned out to be some songs on a iphone and just jumping up and down? we won’t be going back ever. also the floor is concrete covered thinly by some felt and is a lawsuit in the...
Read moreI spied a sandwich shop at Gerrard and Jones, while I was driving. There is a paucity of parking in the area, but, Sunday provided available parking at "All About Kids" on the south side of Gerrard. My visit included a visit to the washroom 🚻 - it was up 22 stairs - the facility was cheerfully kitted out in a pleasing kingfisher blue and blonded wood scheme. It was Squeaky Clean, everywhere 👏! The chalkboard menu was extensive - I opted for a sandwich 🥪. I became aware that the café specialises in something that I don't care about, at all. GLUTEN-FREE and DAIRY-FREE, at any rate, I'd used the bathroom so I felt that I had a covenant to purchase something. I scanned centtal chalkboard, there were 8 to 10 only 3 offered protein. A prosciutto sandwich a Skipjack Tuna (why not white Albacore?) and a Basil Melt. This sandwich featured turkey and sprouts and a few other ingredients. Post-Covid-19 pricing was in full effect - $14.⁰⁰. The place had 3 patrons when I ordered, a father and son cohort and me. The sandwich required 10 minutes to prepare. It arrived in a die-cut self-closing box 📦 (wholesale cost ~ $1 ⁰⁰) and it contained a nicely presented Greek Salad with dressing on the side. The sandwich bread was not toasted, I suspect that it was given a lick and a promise under a toaster oven. The main star 🌟 of the offering was turkey - which was a turkey roll(!) and to add insult to injury, there were only 2 gossamer-thin slices of turkey! I was singularly non-plussed. The staff were pleasant, but I will consider this as the 3rd Time, that I've been there: ■ the 1st time ■ the Last time ■ and, the Never Again Time. That particular corner has seen several different food-service businesses come-and-go in the last 6 years. I hope that my review provides...
Read moreWe have really enjoyed our experiences at Sprouts! Initially we came on a summer weekday and were able to have a free drop in to try out the facilities. It is not a huge indoor playground, but there were not many children there, and our daughter was able to explore and play and it was enough for a child her age. We have since observed that it is incredibly busy and chaotic on weekends, especially with cooler weather. Children seem to leave around noon and it is less busy, and a better time to visit if you can swing it with naps. I think children 5+ would get bored quickly in this indoor playground. As a mother of a new baby, I greatly appreciated the adult chairs for sitting on the floor that provide back support, and can be moved around the play center as needed to watch our child. There is an automated Starbucks coffee machine with either black coffee or hot chocolate, as well as a diverse tea selection for parents to access while at the Center, and sealed mugs are provided so that coffee can be brought in while watching children. Our 3 year old daughter has since been attending ballet on Saturday mornings and loves it. The instructor (Lindsay) is excellent, and ballet remains a highlight each week. We have registered her again for the...
