I like a lot of cafes in this area, but Te Aro is my number one favourite! The aesthetic is beautiful and very stylish - I like how the building is set back farther than the adjacent buildings, creating a courtyard area in front of its entrance so that you begin to experience the atmosphere before you even enter the cafe. It's an alluring short walk that beckons you away from the busy street. I'm unsure whether or not this design is intentional but I think it's distinctive and makes for a haven-like feel to the place as it's just slightly removed from the bustling street and city noise. An industrial yet sleek and refined interior hosts a balanced pairing of metal and wood features, with an intriguing, antique-looking scale as an accent. The high ceilings, exposed pipes, a large glass garage door that floods the space with natural light, real plants hanging on the wall, and an open-concept layout behind the counter, all make the place unique and beautiful and lets you feel like you have room to breathe. It's a very calm, comforting space to sit for hours in, socializing, reading, or working. It has a surprising amount of space and variety of seating, with a choice of high top seats or regular chairs. The customer service is friendly and efficient, but what I enjoy in this cafe that I don't find in most other cafes is that their food (both meals and pastries) are also delicious, creative, and well-made. A lot of coffee shops have good quality coffee but feel like they neglect the quality of their pastries, leaving you with overly sugary, heavy, boring, or bland options. But Te Aro covers every aspect of your experience here and pays attention to each facet - both the drinks and food will delight and satisfy you. As I mentioned previously, this is my absolute favourite cafe in the area, and I miss coming...
Read moreI love going to the coffee shop ans its one of my fav coffee place in the city! But i am here to share a really bad experience and i have decided to that because i fell over the time the service i get is very poor
For me going to the coffee house its an enjoyable experience and to get your coffee of the day but today i reached to the cashier to place my order and Quickly both of us spoke simentanously " i said to go" and he asked for my name and without any hesitation he said "your name is to go"? Like whats with that attitude i understand that its a busy coffee shop but Atleast listen to the customer 1st And the later i got my drink and i swear for someone who goes there 4 times a week the drink was not good and on top of that i saw the barista Pouring a drink in someone cup (the ceraminc ones) and she spills the coffee in the saucer and dosent even clean in up the man whos coffee was that, he makea wierd face to look for a napkin and barista looks the otherway like she Doesn't care... I mean whats going on? This for the management: please have a look into it for someone who lives in lesliville and goes there often the coffee gives more for a timhortons vibe now... Which was not like this when you 1st opend this location.
Thanks for patience for...
Read moreSuper disappointed, loved the coffee but I am never coming back- I had noticed the general customer service here had been declining over the last few months but my last visit was so disappointing. I came in with my partner, as it was our routine and I ordered a chocolate croissant and two coffees. The croissant was stale and inedible so I mustered the courage to ask for another (and when I say I NEVER return food, I am serious. It makes me BEYOND anxious but it was really awful and it cost like 6.75.. I honestly believed it was a one off day old croissant. I came in at 7am...no way they could be that stale!!!) and the barista looked at me as if I had personally offended her. She rolled her eyes, and really rudely asked me what I meant by stale, and then insisted I point out exactly which croissant I wanted on the shelf because they were all the same. I said that if they were all the same, and therefore all stale, then I would just take a refund and she again rolled her eyes and made a big scene of it. I was so uncomfortable. I had had prior unpleasant experiences here with baristas being rude...but this was the nail in the coffin for me. There are sooo many coffee shops in the area, I will travel the extra few minutes not to feel like a...
