First time visiting the restaurant. Was accepted as a single table on an early Friday evening with ease and was given nothing but 5 star treatment from arrival to departure. It was a celebratory night, and needless to say, I was not disappointed! The Atlantic salmon is the epitome of phenomenal taste. The green curry as a foundation was for lack of a better word, addictive. To the point that my server offered me a spoon once the remainder of the dish was finished - to which I was obliged and cleared the bowl of everything but the garnish. Each element of the dish itself has clearly been planned to a calculated perfection and it all forms into a complimentary blend of flavours. I had the Rosie to drink (mocktail equivalent of the Dill on Dill - which I need to go back and try when I am able) and it paired perfectly with the main dish. The hint of dill and citrus brought out even more of the salmon’s perfectly cooked notes. The cheesecake was my finisher and the tartness of the coulis that comes with it was an excellent end to my visit. Joey is an exceptional presence and was very attentive to all guests present. Leslie was a perfect server and made my experience that much more better. Will be back!

Tl;dr - wonderful food, great service, fantastic patio and ambiance. Ended up with a full blown 3-course meal during a Saturday evening dinner. The burrata was absolutely to die for -- with the perfect mixture of grapes, pesto, nuts and EVOO! The seabass ceviche was slightly heavier than most ceviche but flavourful, tangy, perfectly acidic and a hint of sweetness to break up the monotony. For mains, we tried the shiitakii bowl and the PEI Mussles . Both were hearty and plentiful with lots of flavour! Mussles were fresh and the garlic wine sauce had nice heat which went well with the bread. Finally, we tried both desserts, neither of them 'wowed' us but they were both well executed. The flour less chocolate cake was dense, chocolatety but after a few bites, it was hard to finish as it lacked a bit of acid to cut the sweetness. The eastside mess was lighter, the chantilly cream was delightful with the berries, but missed out a bit on a fuller umami flavour. Overall, loved the restaurant and the entire experience!

We had a fantastic experience at the Eastside Social. Our party of 4 didn’t have a reservation on a Friday night and the busy Eastside social was so accommodating and lovely. We had drinks by the bar while we waited for a table to become available and boy, let me tell you- they were so good! Dinner was fantastic, definitely order the eggplant crisps! The olives were nostalgic, tasted just like my uncles olives from Italy. Our mains (pictured) were very satisfying, big portions, and had so much flavour. Service was exceptional and so friendly - going above and beyond! Not to mention when we left, they still remembered our name. We would definitely recommend the Eastside Social and can’t wait to come back! Thanks for having us!

I asked whatt the salmon in specialty mushrooms and sauce entree was accompanied by and I was told asparagus, which was good, but then was later told they didn’t have enough asparagus. I saw they had green beans on the menu elsewhere so I just asked for hot green beans. I was then told there were not enough in the kitchen to offer me. They said they had a sort of bitter broccoli, but because I just had dental surgery I said my dentist told me not to have broccoli. They had absolutely no hot greens to offer other than that one green I could not eat. Very strange for a restaurant of this size. In the end I asked for a little if the cold green salad as presented with other entrees to have any nutrition with my dinner that the server told me was supposed to come with asparagus. My dinner arrived as a small side salad plated separately from a piece of salmon with nothing but sauce despite the description of the entrée on the menu including exotic mushrooms, a much more expensive version of a salad with added salmon. To his credit the owner came by to try and make things better. Sally the best he would do was offer the salmon in mushrooms with a side cold green bean salad with bitter greens in a vinaigrette dressing I had already told the server I didn’t want-too bitter. . He said he would not charge me for that bean salad that I didn’t even wan,t or the inexpensive glass of wine he offered. Nice, but after such a lousy experience that made me want to just leave, and ending in a meal not described to me in the first place, my entire meal should’ve been comped. The salmon, however, was perfectly cooked in a...

I just wanted to give a little bit of a feedback of my experience. I was quite excited to come to East Side social because I love seafood and was looking forward to trying their dishes. However I must say I was quite disappointed with what I received.

I ordered the octopus which normally it's supposed to be quite tender and juicy however the octopus that I received was very dry chewy and flavorless.

also, when I called ahead of time and asked about their dishes, I was told that the calamari could be made grilled. However when I got there the server said it could only be made fried and that grilled was not a possibility. Why would you give wrong information? I cannot eat fried food and was quite limited by their options since a lot of their seafood is deep fried. Also finally the website and the board at the entrance that that oysters were available. However once again when we went to order the server said that it is only on weekends. If something is not available all the time you should clearly state so on the board. It's very disappointing to try to order something and then say that is not available at that time. Most places would say weekends only etc.

The tuna tartare was great. I don't want to saay the whole experience was poor. The server was also very friendly and kind. However I think that for a place that advertises itself as seafood, this experience was...

Tasty food, good quality, pricey but worth it. My wife and I had lunch here and got: Molasses Bread: OMG this alone would make me come back! The bread is homemade goodness, while the miso flavour of the butter really differentiates it. Grilled Octopus: Octopus is a great test of how good a restaurant does seafood. Eastside Social kills it - great grill and char, with the meat ever-so-tender. Only downside is the portion size is really small for the price. Fish and Chips: Haddock is meaty and the batter coating is tasty and not overly thick. Fries are thick and on the right side of saltiness, and the slaw is sweet and refreshing. Only quibble is I would have liked two pieces of fish for the price. Mussell Frites: Undisputed star of the meal. Mussels were fresh and plentiful and perfectly cooked (not rubbery at all). The sauce was amazing (white wine that was spiced up with garlic and chili flakes). And of course, those yummy fries again. Eastside Mess: Perfect capper to the meal, this dessert is summer on a plate. The lemon curd is properly sour, the berries are properly fresh, the meringue chunks add a pop of texture and sweetness, and the chantilly cream finishes it off.

Service is quick and friendly, with great suggestions. Overall, Eastside Social was an...
