Low ratings for the branch are real!
I recently had a very disappointing experience with the manager at the TD branch. There was no sense of customer service throughout the entire process. I brought up an issue regarding some fees and the amount of deposit being incorrect. I explained that other major banks don't charge as much, and she said she would investigate the deposit amount and also make a one-time exception to refund the fees once the investigation was complete. However, she mentioned I would have to wait as she was dealing with other customers before me. I said that's fair but because I wear already running late I asked if she could handle it at her convenience and get back to me, and she agreed.
A few days later, she called to explain the fees. I had to clarify again that my concern was about the actual deposit amount being wrong, fees we had already discussed and she was going to make an exception for. She said sorry she would check that with the back office and get back to me. Four days later, she called back, but I missed the call. She left a voicemail asking me to call her back. I returned the call within half an hour but was told by the branch admin that she had left for the day. He assured me he would inform her about my call.
Five days after my call, I received a call from her stating that the amount was correct. I explained that I didn't have time to go back and forth and asked if she could make the one-time exception she had promised for fees, I will just take the hit on the deposit amount. She said she would apply it to my next transaction when there was a charge. I was so upset with this dishonest response. This was not what we had agreed upon. When I explained why I needed this rectified due to family principles, she insisted I come to the branch to see her if I wanted it done.
This experience felt very dishonest. Initially, I was promised it would be taken care of without needing to return, but later I was told it would only apply to future transactions. I have significant business with TD, and this experience makes me feel that they don't care about their customers or providing credible service. I hope this is just an issue with this branch, but I will remember this for any future business and will move my existing business at the first opportunity.
Additionally, I only went to this branch because I was having lunch with some friends nearby, and it's not my regular branch. Despite this, she still insisted that I visit her in person to resolve the issue. She had initially said she could handle it on her own and gave me the impression that I wouldn't need to come back to the branch. I had to leave after waiting for 20 minutes because I had a meeting to get to and I was assured it can all be done without...
Read moreI went to the bank today to do a small cash withdrawal and convert some US currency into Canadian currency. The transaction with the teller was fine. The teller listened carefully and fulfilled what I asked for.
But the manager and the security guard was my issue. I finished my transaction and moved to the side so as to not block the way for other customers. As I was putting away cash in my wallet, I was chatting with my mom who had waited to the side while i did my transaction. We were there for not even 2 minutes and the manager and the security guard come to us asking us “is everything alright?” The tone didn’t feel right. It seemed like we were not welcome in the branch. We proceeded to leave without hassle or fuss and the security guard was following us all the way out the door as if I had done him wrong. Personally I don’t like confrontation so we left without incident.
I do agree with many of the comments on here. The lines are always long here most of the time. Sometimes 20+ minutes. I see that they are training more staff at this location (which is good) but there always seems to be other staff lingering around watching rather than filling all the teller positions.
I would suggest that people use the Davisville or Yonge and Keewatin branches. Staff are more friendly and it’s generally less of a hassle at those locations.
Additionally. If this branch wants customers to leave right away after they’re done their business, then there should be a sign so that people know what they’re...
Read moreVisited this location to get a new bank card today and was really unimpressed with the customer service. I had my birth certificate, SIN card and my health card, could also verify and transactions and I put my pin in for my previous card. From the start of my interaction I felt like the teller was annoyed to be doing his job, when I expressed my frustration that they wouldn’t accept any of my ID and I’ve never once had a drivers license, as a photo ID. However I didn’t need this when activating my account. It wasn’t just the frustration that it seemed like they were threatening to lock my account regardless of everything I provided but the way it was dealt with. Customer service is I’m sure one of the most important parts of this job and yet the teller was rude, and acted hostile when I explained how frustrating this process was. He basically acted like I was going to jump across and abuse him for saying this process is absurd. Once the manager came over she was a bit more helpful but in no way kind, or communicative. After I answered the security questions no one informed me of anything she just walked away and the original teller brought the card…. It’s not that hard to be kind, or try and de escalate my feelings, they honestly just seemed pissed off to handle my business.
I got what I needed but it was a terrible experience and left feeling bad. I literally avoided getting my card replaced for a year bc I knew it would be...
