Service: Jack was fantastic—friendly, professional, and provided great customer service. Our party of 10 really appreciated his attentiveness! Drinks & Food: Unfortunately, the Sangria was disappointing. Using frozen fruit without fresh fruit, combined with an excessive amount of ice, diluted the drink too much. If fresh fruit isn’t an option, reducing the ice or adjusting the recipe might help keep the flavors more balanced. The 10oz prime rib my partner and I ordered was underwhelming. The seasoning was practically nonexistent, and the au jus didn’t add much depth. Even with all the fat on the cut, it lacked flavor. A bit of pre-seasoning—salt, pepper, and maybe a touch of garlic or herbs—could have made a huge difference. I had to add a lot of salt myself to bring out any flavor. For the price ($160 for two), the food didn’t quite meet expectations. For that cost, other restaurants like Margo for example offer a more refined and flavorful dining experience. The crème brûlée was excellent— although simple to make it’s well-executed and a yummy dessert. Atmosphere: The lighting inside was a bit harsh—certain areas were extremely dark while others had very bright spotlights, creating an odd contrast. A more balanced lighting setup could make the space feel more inviting. Overall: The experience felt more like a casual drinks-and-apps spot rather than a premium steakhouse. With some improvements in food seasoning and presentation, it could be much more appealing.

Went here last Sunday, between 5-5:30pm. The lounge area was busy, and noisy, so opted for the dining room. Was alone, but the service was attentive, which is a big plus for me. Too many places ignore women dining alone. I ordered a Sommerby cider, which was brought in a tall glass. I wasn't given the can, as well, so have no idea if I got the whole thing. Ordered the escargots in mushroom caps, which were wonderful. They even came with a tiny loaf of bread to sop up the garlicky melted butter. I had one the Keg Classics - an 8-oz top sirloin steak, which included a salad (I chose the mixed greens) and a side. I got the garlic mashed potatoes. The salad was fresh with a lovely vinaigrette dressing that has the perfect balance of tart and sweet. I did have to stir up the salad a bit to get it on everything on the plate, as the dressing had settled to the bottom I asked for my steak medium rare and it was done just right. I loved it! The only thing I didn't like was that the green beans that came withy steak were a tad crunchy. Nonetheless, I will definitely be back to this location. If I had foregone the cider and appetizer, the other 3 items were $36.00. Next time, I'm getting the peppercorn steak. The service was quick and the timing between courses great.

As expected, food was delicious and steak was 5 Ron Swansons out of 5. Service, presentation were great. Also, lots of spacing between tables (unknown if this was consistent throughout the whole establishment). Some small issues: 1. The plate size to table size ratio was way off. We didn’t want to give up that amazing bread they serve you before the main course, but keeping that plate along with the two steak plates was a master course in organization. 2. We probably should have sat somewhere further away from one of the ceiling speakers. Hard to tell how many were throughout the space, but overall, it felt pretty loud. 3. Lastly, on top of the wine list in its own menu enclosure, there were THREE other menus - one presumably for special limited time wines, and then two more densely filled with options. Great of course if you want variety, but it was a bit of a cognitive overload sorting through and narrowing things down. Pro-tip 1: Bring your readers if you have trouble with small print! Pro-tip 2: If you can’t finish your steak, take the rest home, slice it up thin, and throw that in a salad!

Underwhelming!!! Our server, Shireen, was great….but it dropped off after that!!! This was entirely based on one change…..they packed in as many tables as they could fit!!! One table near us in the centre of the room had 3 sets of guests ask to be moved….that’s because as the servers were delivering food to those of us along the perimeter they walked around this table at and the person on that side felt someone was continually walking behind them!!! But the overcrowding caused other unintended consequences…the surrounding noise was too high, so people talked louder. Service seemed slower, not that we were in any hurry, as the kitchen tried to keep up!! Even the greeters at the front looked a little stressed. I’ve been going to the Keg since the eighties, at just about every one in Greater Toronto from Yonge Street east, more times than I can remember. I’ve also given their gift cards as a quality gift/reward. In fact we were at this restaurant in October 2021, during the last throes of the Pandemic and had such an enjoyable dinner that we reserved Saturday night to repeat the experience. If this had been my first time….I would probably would have felt that having tried it, I’m not sure I liked it. In fact I’m not sure I’ll come back to this location again, even though we live just 15 minutes or so away!!! You can easily average something near $!00 per person per turnover at this location, especially on a Saturday night…..why push it with extra tables!! The Keg isn’t going to suffer a recession any time soon, so why squeeze it too much. The Keg has always been a class restaurant, they shouldn’t spoil it by crowding the floor. The French Onion soup was great…..but then again it’s a prepackage foodservice product zapped in a...

The food value was about what I expected - on par with comparable steak chains in its class. Our group of 10 purchased several Happy Hour burgers and various entrees that arrived almost an hour after ordering. Our fries were cold and the menu description of the burger was missing. An under-sauteed and wet onion mash mixed with warm lettuce made each bite of the burger interesting. Thankfully, a perfectly charred pattie helped mask some of the adventures. With pickles and cheese already on the burger to help keep things dry, the onions need to be properly caramelized (moisture reduced) with lettuce added right before service.

The pistachio-crusted salmon was cooked properly albeit heavy on the syrup. The over-charged Brussel sprouts also had syrup added which made the dish overwhelmingly sweet. A quality mashed potato might have saved (or at least cut through) the candied meal that was underwhelming at $40.

Our server was fabulous. She was friendly with the kids and personable with the adults. However, she was overwhelmed with tables to serve. The bar did not lack servers, but the floor was sparse with fast-moving servers bustling at an uncomfortable pace.

The atmosphere was typical/standard as expected. Some prefer a dim dining experience while others appreciate a bit more light - that's all subjective and moot in the end.

Might return or recommend this location, but naturally hesitant. Hoping this was a 'one-off' as they say when otherwise reviews are pretty good overall. Our group was less than critical because of the table bread. This tied people over and left them feeling satisfied when otherwise entree portion sizes were...
