I have to agree with a lot of comments above - this store is close by so I really want it to work, but on way too many occasions I've brought groceries home and they were expired (even though the sticker didn't indicate that) or had some issue that I couldn't see at the store until I got home and opened the item. I've wasted so much money at this place. I have never shopped somewhere where the grocery items were so consistently poor quality. As others here have mentioned, their price tags are so often incorrect and they refuse to honour their advertised prices. I've found some of the baked goods up front with mold on them. I've showed the employees expired items that were out on the shelves, only to watch them turn around and put the item right back on the shelf. The cashiers rarely say hello when they're serving you, I often say hello first and wait for them to reply and just look at them waiting for some sign of life, and they just refuse. It's all around a horrible experience, and so unbelievably overpriced to boot. I NEVER write reviews, but I had to come see if anyone else was having the same experience and in fact they are. The icing on the cake was a small chocolate that I purchased yesterday, opened on my walk home, and found it to be covered with a white film, a sign that it was super old. Stupid me ate it anyway thinking how bad can an old chocolate be, and who knows what the cause really was, but became violently ill hours after. Never again coming to this store, or at least until new management takes over and breathes some life...
Read moreThis store is about a minute walk away from my home on Lonsdale - I now shop at the Loblaws 15 minutes away. I avoid this store like the plague - everything costs far too much (almost double, and in some cases triple, what you'd pay anywhere else), the quality of their prepared foods is mediocre at best, and the cashiers (not all of them, but the ones who do, Christ almighty) take their sweet time getting people out. This is not to mention the fact that the employees close early, despite the posted hours, whenever it seems to please them.
Maybe I'm just irritated because I just spent 10 minutes in line waiting to buy cat food for 10 dollars, and I only had 2 people in front of me. I apologize if that's the case - but I most certainly don't...
