I was looking forward to having my first firehouse sub and now it will definitely be my last! Major HEALTH AND SAFETY ISSUE - I found a SHARP METAL shaving from possibly a tin can in my sub. I was eating my sub in-house when I bit something hard so I spat it out - it was a sharp metal shaving!
I brought it to the attention of the cashier, who was apologetic and polite but at no point did a manager or superior address the issue or apologize; I was simply refunded the cost of my sandwich only, not even my even entire order by the cashier. They simply carried on afterwards. I find this extremely concerning and absolutely appalling. This is a serious health and safety concern, no one should be worried about eating sharp metal when they purchase a meal. Had I swallowed the metal, who knows what health issues could have occurred seeing as the object was sharp.
Health and safety are of foremost importance in a restaurant, before taste and customer service even come into play. It's clear that they don't apply best practices when it comes to health and safety. Please avoid eating here since they aren't concerned about the H&S aspect, it's not worth the health risk.
Typically I'm not one to write reviews but I want to ensure that I express this so that no one gets hurt seeing as there are many people who enjoy subs and families with children that would possibly eat here. Just...
Read moreFIRST TIME HERE, WE GOT A BRISKET SUB W.A SIDE OF CHILI.
**OVERALL FOOD 1/5
CHILI 0/5 THIS WAS BEYOND HORRIBLE. THINK, OLD STALE MEAT, SIMMERED/REUSED/OVERLY COOKED FOR GOD KNOWS HOW LONG...IT WAS PRACTICALLY MUSHED PUREED BABY FOOD. TASTE AND TEXTURE WAS NOT PLEASANT. PLEASE SKIP IT.
BRISKET SUB 1/5 THE BRISKET ITSELF WAS DECENT BUT NOT WORTH THE HEFTY PRICE TAG. ITS SMOTHERED IN WHAT TASTED LIKE KRAFT BBQ SAUCE (NOT THE GREATEST, SRY!) & THE BREAD WAS MEH. KIND OF SQUISHED & SOGGY. HONESTLY, OVERALL NOTHING SPECIAL. ITS DEFINITELY MORE ON THE "GORMET FAST FOOD" (PRICE WISE), BUT NOT WORTH IT. PAID JUST UNDER $30 FOR ONE SUB COMBO W.A SIDE CHILI (THAT WAS NOT EDIBLE!) & A FOUNTAIN POP.
**SERVICE 4/5 CASHIER WAS SUPER POLITE & FRIENDLY. TOOK OUR ORDER & OFFERED TO HAVE OUR SUB CUT IN HALF FOR SHARING. ONLY REASON THE RATING IS A 4 BECAUSE ONE OF THE FOOD PREP/WORKER DID NOT CHANGE THEIR GLOVE AFTER REPEATEDLY TOUCHING THEIR FACE, NOSE, SINK/FAUCET & PRETTY MUCH EVVVVVVERYTHING - THEN MADE OUR FOOD. PRETTY UNSANITARY OF YOU ASK ME.
**ATMOSPHERE 3/5 ITS A CHEESEY QSR/DINER-ISH SPOT. PAYING $30/MEAL, FOR ONE...ID ALMOST ECPECT TO BE IN A RESTAURANT W.TABLE SERVICE, NOT A QSR TYPE PLACE.
**VERDICT? I PROBABLY WOULDNT GO OUT OF MY WAY FOR IT OR COME BACK...
Read moreI was a regular customer here for months. Then recently I had a bad experience. The person making my sandwich was really rushing (not sure if that played a part) but when I got home to eat my sandwich it was sopping wet. It was mushy and dripping. It was disgusting.
However, I did really like the subs here usually so I thought I’d give it another shot. I let them know when I was ordering that the last time my order was not good and very soggy. They apologized and said they would make sure it didn’t happen this time.
Well to assure my sandwich wasn’t wet this time they toasted it at least twice if not more. The bread was hard and rubbery. It was difficult to chew and if possible even more inedible than the soggy sandwich. Terrible way to address the issue. If you’re going to make someone’s food with such disregard for how it might actually be to eat, then maybe you should reconsider working in the food industry.
Used to love the sandwiches here but after 2 terrible experiences (one which was intentional) I will not be returning again. Funny how one or two bad experiences can really ruin a bunch of good experiences. This place has really decreased in...
