Double DD Pizza — Restaurant in Vancouver

So I've been ordering from this place for years, and I had an experience today where I will never be giving them another penny of my money.

So recently this store showed up on doordash, and it says 40% off your first two orders. So I placed an order for a medium pizza and a dessert. Within 15 minutes I received an email telling me the order had been cancelled because the restaurant couldn't fulfill my order, and it asked me how I would like my refund. Then within 2 minutes I have DDs call me and the female on the phone asks me why I cancelled my order. I explained that it wasn't me who cancelled, and she asked if I could deal with doordash and reorder. I tell her no I don't want to deal with all that, how about I just pay for the order in cash. To which she says that's fine, I then ask "it was like $26 right?". To which she responds $36, I explain that's definitely not what it said on my end when I placed the order. Then she goes away, and comes back and says $30. To which I say no, I'll pay the exact amount the bill was. Then she puts an absolute rude clown on the phone, this guy is telling me that I cancelled, that because the deal comes from doordash there is nothing he can do and I have to deal with it, that I have to pay the full amount or else, that the order is already on the way(which is a complete lie because it doesn't take less than 15 minutes to make a pizza and the desert, and cook them). I finally explain that I don't work for DD's or Doordash and that I'm not paying a penny more than what I'm supposed to pay. He tells me fine I'm not getting anything.

Then I proceed to speak to Doordash on the phone, and I'm told the restaurant definitely cancelled, then when I ask why would they do that. I'm told probably to get more money out of me, which I can't prove but it's an insane situation. I don't know if this place has gotten new owners, or if someone's extremely incompetent family member was put in charge, but screw them, and I really wish I hadn't spent thousands of dollars at this mickey mouse store over the years. Here's the proof of how they used to be something to be proud of, and them cancelling the order and then trying to scam me for more of my money and time, and the original amount. Please don't give your money to establishments like this that speak to and treat their customers...

Two nights ago I ordered from Double D’s. I have always enjoyed their food. My mum is visiting from out of town, so I thought we would order some dinner which as a treat. I ordered the chicken souvlaki which was really good but my mum ordered the beef souvlaki and unfortunately she couldn’t eat much of the meat! She’s not one to complain about her food at all but I saw what she was given and the pile on her plate that was all gristle! She couldn’t enjoy it and it was a true let down. As it was the end of the night and they had closed, we couldn’t call then, so I called about it the next day but the manager wasn’t around so I called today. I had to wait for the manager to speak to the other manager about it for some reason and I got a call back only to be told that when that particular manager was working, no one else complained about the beef that night so they chose not to believe my mother and not do anything about it. I have a photo of it which I will share with everyone. It’s really too bad they treat customers who pay their bills this way. I have been a long time customer of theirs but this has really turned me off. I don’t like being treated like I was making things up. Incredibly unprofessional and rude! We're not from Vancouver and this place was recommended to us by a stranger we met so we were excited to try it but it was a really bad experience. Our order was simple- 2 baked spaghettis with meatballs and a chicken Caesar salad to share. When it came we did not receive the meat balls we paid extra for and our salad came with no dressing which was unfortunate because it looked alot better than the spaghetti. The store was closed by the time we got our food so we couldn't call back to go pick up what we didn't receive. The spaghetti sauce doesn't have much flavour it was basically just noodles under a thick layer of cheese and wasnt very appetizing and we couldn't even eat the salad. The next day we called to ask if we can come grab what was left out of our order and no one there was very nice. They didn't apologize for forgetting important parts of the meal and seemed very annoyed at us for coming back to get them. When we got home we realized they only gave us the missing meatballs for one of the meals even though we originally paid for two. Very bad experience, no apology for the hassle, unfriendly staff and the food wasnt even good. Don't understand how this place is rated so highly.
