I bought my first more expensive piece of jewelry today at Amity Design Studio which was the tri-coloured planetary bracelet (rose gold, gold and silver metal) which is sold at $169 + tax. I actually drove back for it today after seeing it for the first time earlier this week and how dazzling it looked on my wrist.
I LOVE LOVE the unique planetary bracelet and am very glad that I decided to buy it after a lot of mental debate! How fitting that I am super into astrology as well! I got to talk to Vanja, the very friendly store owner and designer of the jewelry. She showed me the different options for what I was looking for. I found out that Vanja’s been selling this design for 20+ years! What a timeless piece! She also shared with me that she came to Canada as a refugee not knowing English and struggling in many aspects. She has come a long way since to build a business for herself. I appreciate her attention to detail to the design and fit of the bracelets. And I am so glad that there are different sizes of bracelets as they often come as one size fits all and are too big for my small wrists. The one that I got is the perfect size!
It was such an honour to meet and chat with Vanja and meeting her husband! It’s rare that I get the opportunity to chat with the owner and designer of a business in depth and it will be a memory that I will always cherish. 💜

Read moreI wish I had the same experience as the people with the wedding rings. I have purchased two expensive beautiful custom pendants with cable chains necklaces in the past few years. Both cable chains have broken. I went to get a replacement cable chain when we were back in Vancouver (as I can’t wear both necklaces at the same time - one is fine). For the privilege I was charged $40 plus tax (he kindly gave me a discount from $50!). Only trouble was when I continued walking around Granville Island I found others selling the same 18” silver cable chains for $55 which included other pendants (glass beads). Clearly $40 was a rip-off to a loyal customer. (I also bought a silk poncho from the same place - and the stitching tore the second time I wore it). Anyway - you take your chances with quality and warranty service at this...
Read moreI absolutely adore this store's collection of unique jewelry on Granville Island. Unlike other jewelry stores with similar pieces, this one truly stands out. The quality is exceptional, and the staff is incredibly helpful. My personal favorite item from this store has to be the flower pearl earrings – the fact that the pearl isn't attached to the earring allows for customization with different stud earrings. It's a pretty cool feature that sets this...
