It's been a while since I enjoyed life--with everything imploding in the world. On a visit back to Vancouver, we decided to do a Pirate Adventure and were NOT disappointed. Did we get the week-day B-team? Probably. Were Salty Jim, Captain Shark-bate, and StrongArm amazing? YES. I imagine this cruise is a hoot anytime you go (face-palms, school-kid grins, and giggles galore). Were there g-rated, adult jokes? Definitely. If you go on the cruise, are you in for the ultimate hour of dad jokes? 100%. We loved the pop-cultural references, copy-right infringement in good fun, and how absurd the performance was. The Pirates didn't look like they loved what they were doing, but they are pirates... making a living... in Vancouver... they stayed in character quite well and the kids LOVED it (though I think the real target audience is moms--we were recruited for some of the more "dangerous" aspects of the interactive theatre; *swoon* swashbuckingly pirates!!). The water canons and Pirate Pete were hilarious. Worth it 1000%!!! We'll definitely be back and make sure to wear some me-hearty, ARRRRR, a-hoy outfits to boot! --- Booking was easy. They do recommend you book ahead of time, but if you are coming in from out of town and want to make sure you are in Vancouver before you sign up, it sounds like there's usually times during the week you can do a walk-in (which is what we did). Our adventure wasn't until the afternoon, so we spent the day at the Kid's Market--one of our favourite places as well! However, I was told that the weekends are usually full. If you have a specific day and time you'd like to sail, book ahead. The costumes turned out to be a vest and sash with monochromatic face paint. They have hats for sale in the shop. If you'd like to get super into the adventure, it's BYOC (that is, Bring Your Own Costumes). I suspect birthday parties are much more elaborate. :)

Watching the Honda Celebration of Light from a pirate ship was an absolutely unforgettable experience! 🌊 The fireworks reflecting on the waters of the bay created a breathtaking spectacle, and the atmosphere on board made it even more magical. The crew members were not just staff but true performers, fully immersing guests in the pirate adventure. ⚓ Their costumes, speech, and behavior transported us into another world. It wasn’t just a show—it was a theatrical experience on the water, captivating for both adults and children. The actors’ complete transformation into their roles made the journey feel incredibly authentic—huge thanks to the organizers! 👏 Our second visit to the ship during Andrea Algieri’s evening was particularly memorable. 💖 The ambiance was incredibly romantic—soft lantern light, a gentle ocean breeze, quiet music, and a spectacular fireworks display above the bay. The organizers thought through every detail, creating an atmosphere of elegance and magic. A huge thank you to everyone who made this event possible! If you’re looking for a unique way to experience the fireworks, step into the world of pirates 🏴‍☠️, or enjoy a romantic night on the water, this is the perfect choice. Highly recommended!

I recently had a disappointing experience with Pirate Adventures company. My group and I had booked a pirate-themed cruise well in advance, but we were notified via text message late at night time before our departure that the cruise was canceled. Typically this type of cancellation happens due to weather, but the weather today was perfect, there is no excuse here. The last-minute notice left us scrambling for alternative plans, ruining what was supposed to be a special event. The company's communication was poor did not call or email, simply dropped a text. The lack of professionalism and consideration for their customers' plans was frustrating and unhelpful. I would not recommend this company based on our experience, as they clearly cannot be relied upon for a dependable service.

Ahoy there, me hearties! Gather 'round as I share the tale of our unforgettable Pirate Cruise at Granville Island. Our company staff event was transformed into a super fun escapade, thanks to the three fantastic pirates: Jager Jones, Mickey the Maroon, and Captain Crusty!

From the moment we stepped aboard, these pirates had us in stitches with their hilarious antics and witty banter. Jager Jones, Mickey the Maroon, and Captain Crusty were the heart and soul of our adventure, making it great for all ages.

The best part? We were encouraged to bring our own grub, and the crew even helped us set up! With full bellies, we were ready to join in the excitement with all the kids on board. They were provided with pirate vests and bandanas, turning them into mini-buccaneers and spreading joy all around.

As we set sail, the picturesque view of English Bay area provided a gorgeous backdrop for our journey. The entire experience was a fun-filled and laughter-packed voyage that none of us will soon forget.

In conclusion, the Pirate Cruise at Granville Island is an absolute delight. It's a simple yet thrilling adventure suitable for all ages, and I can't recommend it enough!

So, me hearties, hoist the anchor, and set sail with these three fun-loving pirates for a swashbuckling good time! Yo ho ho...
