Maritime Museum — Local services in Vancouver

Staff was super nice. They have a full sized ship inside the museum! Not part of it, or just above decks - the whole thing bow to stern, crow's nest to keel. It's basically in a drydock inside and you can walk down below to see the hull, prop, rudder etc.

It was a sail + engine vessel used in trying help find the Northwest Passage that you can actually go aboard and walk around in. Climbing up the ladder to the wheelhouse was especially fun. They have a simple but neat simulator too that lets you pretend to drive the ship through icebergs.

Their collection of lumber tugs and native canoes was pretty impressive also. Great place to take anyone interested in ships or the sea culture of native peoples of the Arctic as they have many...
